Earth Day Post for Aquaticus Plants

This Earth Day, we’re proud to see native aquatic plants from our nursery making a real impact in Florida’s restoration efforts.

Today, submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) grown at Aquaticus Plants is being installed by AquaTech Eco Consultants in Lake Apopka for the St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD).

These native plants play a critical role in improving water quality, enhancing habitat, and supporting biodiversity—starting right here at our nursery and extending into Florida’s most vital ecosystems.

We are excited to conitnue providing verified NATIVE SAV for AquaTech Eco Consultants to plant in restoration projects! Lake Apopka has been a huge success and highlight of our SAV growing expertise!

These restoration efforts, which focus on wetland restoration, phosphorus reduction, and habitat enhancement, have achieved a 69% decline in phosphorus concentrations and a 93% increase in water clarity as of 2023.
