🥜 MEET PEANUT. 🥜

Peanut would like to discuss something.

Specifically… WHY IS THERE A GIANT PLASTIC SATELLITE DISH ATTACHED TO HIS HEAD?! 😳😂

This adorable little Beagle was recently neutered, which means he is currently sporting the infamous Cone of Shame. And judging by that expression, Peanut has absolutely NO idea what is happening.

“I came here looking for a family and somehow ended up dressed like a lampshade.” 😐

The indignity.

Peanut is estimated to be about 4 years old, weighs less than 20 pounds, and is just the sweetest little guy. ❤️ He’s the perfect smaller-sized package for anyone who has always wanted a Beagle but thought, “Could I perhaps get the travel-size version?”

YES. YES YOU CAN.

Come meet Peanut at Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter and help this sweet boy find the loving home he deserves.

The cone is temporary.

The adorable face is permanent. 🥜🐶💚

👀 LOOK INTO MY EYES… 👀

Deeper.

Deeeeeeper.

Do not look away.

You are getting sleepy… very sleepy…

You suddenly feel an uncontrollable urge to get in your car and drive to Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter.

You’re not sure why.

You just know there is something you need to do.

Perhaps… ADOPT ROSETTE. 😵‍💫🐶

Yes. That’s it.

I am Rosette. I am 4 months old, ridiculously adorable, and I have been practicing my hypnotic puppy stare for this exact moment.

You will come to the shelter.

You will meet me.

You will fall hopelessly in love.

You will say, “Well, I guess we have a puppy now.”

And I will think…

Excellent. The trance is working. 😈

Now stop reading.

Grab your keys.

Come adopt me.

👁️👁️ Rosette commands it.

You will remember none of this… except the part about adopting Rosette. 😂🐾💚

🚨 ATTENTION. THIS IS YOUR FINAL WARNING. 🚨

We have tried to be reasonable.

We have posted the photos.
We have explained the situation.
We have shown you the FACE.

And yet… TARZAN IS STILL HERE.

People. What are we doing?! 😩

Tarzan is 9 months old, handsome enough to have his own fan club, full of personality, and ready to become somebody’s ridiculously loved family member.

And if you don’t adopt him?

Well… someday you may be scrolling through Facebook and see a photo of Tarzan sprawled across someone else’s couch, living a life of snacks, belly rubs and questionable personal boundaries.

And you will whisper:

“That could have been my dog.”

TOO LATE, SUSAN.
YOU HAD YOUR CHANCE. 😂

And TODAY makes this situation even more outrageous because it is the LAST DAY of our Clear the Shelters promotion!

🎉 Adoption fees for our available adult animals are WAIVED!
💚 You simply make a donation in the amount of your choosing.

So, to summarize:

✔️ Tarzan is adorable.
✔️ Tarzan needs a family.
✔️ You need a Tarzan.
✔️ Today is the LAST DAY.
✔️ We have officially run out of excuses for you.

Come to Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter and TAKE. TARZAN. HOME.

Because missing out on this dog would be one of the greatest errors in judgment of 2026.

Don’t be the person who has to live with that. 😂🐾💚 Adoption hours are 12 pm to 4 pm today.

We just love a great update! You may remember our friend Abe who found his way to our shelter during the pandemic and needed surgery for entropion. His adopter reached out to give us an update and even sent some photos!

"A seriously overdue update of almost 6 years! Wanted to let you guys know that you have given me the most incredible cat in the world, and as he is approaching his 14th birthday, I thank your team everyday for giving me the opportunity to be part of his story! He is the light of my life, bringing joy to everyone he meets! An absolute sweetheart, the kindest cat i have ever met. He has learned to be brave and strong, and weathered quite a few serious health problems over the years but continues to have the most positive attitude towards life!"

We are grateful when people open their hearts and homes to pets in need, especially for homeless animals like Abe.

🐾 Partnership means so many things. 💚

It means being there when another organization needs help—and knowing they’ll be there when we need it, too. It means sharing resources, sharing knowledge, and most importantly, sharing the load so more animals can get the care they need.

Yesterday, we reached out to one of our shelter partners to see if they could use a helping hand. As it turned out, the timing couldn’t have been better.

A litter of seven tiny kittens and one little singleton had just been left in their care, and they didn’t have bottle feeders available to provide the round-the-clock care these vulnerable babies need.

We did. 🍼💚

So those eight little ones came back with us and are now safely settled with one of our foster caregivers, receiving the warmth, frequent feedings, monitoring, and care they need to grow and thrive.

And while we were there, we were also able to bring three dogs back to Mt. Pleasant, giving them another opportunity to find the loving families they deserve. 🐶🐾

This is why partnerships matter.

Sometimes we need the helping hand. Sometimes we’re able to extend it. And when shelters work together, more animals get the chance they deserve.

But partnership doesn’t stop with shelters. It includes you.

Every foster home that opens its doors gives us room to say yes. Every adoption makes space for another animal who needs us. Every donation helps provide formula, food, medical care, and supplies. Every volunteer gives their time so this work can continue. And every person who shares our message helps connect an animal with someone who may be able to change their life.

We can’t do this work alone—and we aren’t meant to.

Eight tiny kittens. Three hopeful dogs. Two organizations sharing the load. And an entire community with the power to make the next “YES” possible.

Foster. Adopt. Donate. Volunteer. Share.
However you choose to help, be part of the partnership that saves lives. 💚🐾

🐾 Sometimes friendship finds you when you need it most. ❤️

Felix and Dracaena came to Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter from two completely different places. They didn’t know each other. They didn’t arrive together. But somewhere along the way… they found each other. 🥹

🌿 Dracaena is just about 6 months old.
🐱 Felix is about 1½ years old.

Now these two young cats can often be found keeping each other company while they wait for the same thing — families of their own.

They do not need to be adopted together… although, are we going to pretend we wouldn’t absolutely LOVE it if that happened?! ❤️❤️

For now, they have each other. But what they really need is for someone to walk through our doors and say, “You’re coming home with me.”

Let’s help Felix and Dracaena find the homes they deserve. 🏡🐾

🚨 OFFICER SMITH… WE HAVE SOME UNFORTUNATE NEWS. 🚨

We really didn’t want you to find out this way.

But Goofy has moved on. 💔

Yes. Already.

After yesterday’s emotional goodbye… the longing… the heartbreak… the “Officer Smith, don’t leave me!” energy…

Goofy has now been spotted getting VERY cozy with our Veterinary Care Manager, Brisa.

Cuddles were exchanged. Trust was established. A bond is forming.

We’re so sorry you had to find out on Facebook. 😂🐶💔
