Story time:

This Rescue has a number of dogs available for Adoption, they are listed or have pending meetings/decisions…so I want to take a moment to bring your attention to two dogs, in hopes of bringing in people who could help. Yodel and Nova need our help!

Yodel is a 2 yr old/70lb Shepherd mix who came to our Rescue as a young pup. He had a couple who received wonderful references, they met, fell in love and Yodel was adopted in CT. The Adopter and Coordinator stayed in touch. The Adopter said that Yodel was such a blessing to the family, and there was mention of possibly Adopting again. Flash forward to a few days ago where we were told that Yodel was in a kill shelter in AL. We got him out and he was placed in Vet boarding so we can bring him back to CT. The transporter said that he is THE sweetest dog. Yodel loved everything and everyone. He was Fostered in a home where he was surrounded by kids cats and other dogs. We need a Foster home for Yodel ASAP- he deserves to lay on soft beds and get belly rubs. Barring any complications with transport, Yodel is coming to us this weekend. CAN YOU FOSTER YODEL? He is housebroken, good on a leash and moderately energetic. Email and Apply if you live in CT.

Nova is a 7 yr old Retriever mix of 60lbs who is cat friendly, dog friendly, housebroken, moderately energetic and would do best with older kids. There was a domestic violence situation prompting Mom, baby and pup to move- but schedule changes and no yard is leaving Nova out of sorts with limited exercise and less time with her people. Mom’s hands are full but she wants Nova to have a good life. Nova is in CT and we can do a meeting if you are approved to Foster. Email and apply if you live in CT.

We have one application on file! Who else wants to meet these babies?

Sometimes dogs get Adopted from our Rescue so quickly, it makes your head spin. You think, wow, that dog came into the Rescue and found their Furever home so quickly! Other times, dogs linger…no real reason, but they remain available. That does not make them any less adorable, any less desirable…but they remain. Case in point, Mindy and Molly are the adorable Doberman puppies from TX who are still available for Adoption. Someone met a pup at an adoption event and called a few weeks later to say she wanted to Adopt, but no application has been received and no calls have been returned. We have been ghosted! We hope to turn that around by letting you know that both girls are READY to meet YOU! The pups are 7 months old, about 40lbs, they are housebroken, kid/cat/dog friendly, learning leash skills, equal parts playful and cuddly. And did I mention, THEY ARE AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!!! A 7 yr old, 120lb Great Pyrenees named Baxter came into a shelter, and Change A Life Dog Rescue took him in. Baxter is in Ga right now- safe, in a local Foster home. He is scheduled to come to CT next Saturday. Can you CHANGE A LIFE by Fostering this dog friendly, easy going Senior who just wants to lay by your side? WE HAVE A FOSTER!

WE NEED FOSTERS!!!!!

A Rescue cannot help a dog if there is no Foster home for the dog to be placed. Our Rescue has a wonderful “Gentle Giant” of a dog looking for a soft place to land. He is appropriately named Goliath- a Male Mastiff age 2, weighing 104lbs…a big baby. Goliath is GREAT on leash, GREAT with other dogs, CAT FRIENDLY, housebroken and crate trained. Goliath is such a great dog! We are looking for a Foster or Forever home for the big guy, can YOU help? If you want to Foster and you live in CT email [email protected] and submit an application. Change A Life Dog Rescue needs your help to save three incredible dogs who were just moments away from losing their lives.

When we learned that several dogs in a rural Georgia shelter were facing euthanasia, we knew we couldn’t turn away. Thanks to our rescue partners and supporters, three boys are now SAFE and receiving care at a veterinary boarding facility in Georgia:

🐾 Kanan – 6-year-old Belgian Malinois
🐾 Kilo – 2-year-old Husky
🐾 Mojo – 2-year-old Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix

But rescue is only the beginning.

Two of these dogs have already tested positive for heartworm disease, and we are still awaiting results for the third. They will need medical treatment, vaccinations, transport, food, boarding, and eventually loving foster and forever homes.

Today, we are launching a fundraising goal of $750 to help cover their immediate medical and rescue expenses.

Every donation — no matter the size — directly changes the life of a dog who was only 30 minutes away from euthanasia.

So… we did a thing. We were told that some lovely dogs were sitting in a rural shelter and facing euthanasia. This is not a subject we like to talk about, but sadly it is a reality in Rescue. We decided to take these dogs, 3 Male dogs from Georgia: a 6 yr old Malinois, a 2 yr old Husky and a 2 yr old Great Pyrenees/Anatolian mix. They are all safe in a Vet boarding facility in Georgia, that is wonderful news! Two of the 3 dogs we took in are Heartworm positive (we are still waiting to hear the status of the 3rd dog. This is also a reality in Rescue- there are costs associated with helping dogs…we need YOUR help!

We are looking to Change the lives of Kanan the Malinois, Kilo the Husky and Mojo the Pyrenees mix. Would you help us help them on their journey from shelter life, 30 minutes from being euthanized, to Vet care, Foster homes and Forever homes? Adopted!

Varsity had an applicant, but she just pulled out- this great pup is still available, let’s chat!

Change A Life Dog Rescue would like to tap into your sense of nostalgia. Picture it, 1997, you turn on the TV to see a movie trailer for a Golden Retriever playing basketball. That’s right, Air Bud!!!!

We have our own version of Air Bud- Varsity, the Golden mix with the mesmerizing hazel eyes. Varsity loves basketball, running in a fenced area or leash walks, other dogs, people and we even think he is ok with cats (we did a cat test, he seemed to be afraid of them so we would need to do a walk through. Varsity is listed as 7yrs old, but we think he might be about 5yrs old. Varsity is completely housebroken, good on a leash, he can be crated, he is not destructive and he would be a great companion to watch the NBA playoff (GO KNICKS) or the ongoing WNBA season (Go CT SUN). Regardless of the team you back, you get to love this sweet pup from Georgia who was abandoned. His Southern and Northern Fosters adore him and say “he is THE best dog”. You can meet him and say the same.
