We're excited to share that Hope's Legacy has successfully renewed our Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS) accreditation! GFAS is the only organization offering an animal sanctuary accreditation program serving animals worldwide.

Every three years, Hope's Legacy completes a renewal process that includes an application, documentation review, and site visit to maintain this accreditation. Organizations like GFAS are an important part of maintaining our investment in best practices as a rescue. We are truly grateful to be part of this global effort in animal welfare.

American Regent has issued a voluntary nationwide recall of select lots of Adequan® I.M. (for horses) due to the potential presence of glass fibers found during internal testing.

Affected horse product:
• Adequan® I.M. Injection, 500 mg/5 mL single-dose 5 mL vials
• Lot Numbers: 24416 and 25265P

If you have Adequan at home, please check the lot number on your vial. Do not use any affected product and contact our office if you have questions or need assistance obtaining a replacement or discussing treatment options.

RECALL ALERT: American Regent, Inc. Animal Health is conducting a nationwide recall of two lots (25011 and 3369) of Adequan® Canine Injection (for dogs), 100 mg/mL 5mL multi-dose vials and two lots (24416 and 25265P) of Adequan® i.m. Injection (for horses), 500mg/5 mL single-dose 5mL vials to the consumer level. 🐴 Meet the Person Behind the Surgeon

Dr. Gallagher’s love for horses began growing up in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, where she learned Saddleseat riding alongside her beloved Arabian mare, Berry. That passion eventually inspired her to pursue veterinary medicine—and ultimately equine surgery.

When she’s not caring for horses, Dr. Gallagher enjoys spending time with family and friends, riding and training horses (she’s hoping to learn dressage!), detailing cars, and even wants to try candle making.

We’re excited for her to soon be back in Virginia and enjoying the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains once again! 💙
