The Farmstead Pet Activity Center

The Farmstead Pet Activity Center The Farmstead PAC was designed to give your pet a place to engage in dog daycare activities to meet and fulfill their core animal instincts.

Easily accessible from the Glenn highway in downtown Eagle River, Alaska. Every pet should visit The Farmstead! Our facility incorporates 2500 square feet of indoor play space, 2500 square feet of outdoor covered play space with K9Grass (turf designed specifically for dogs) to escape the elements and 3000 square feet of uncovered outdoor play space to enjoy all the elements Alaska has to offer — s

un, snow, or rain. Your pet will also have access to a 15,000 square feet of natural grass play yard to participate in scheduled activities of your choosing. Additionally, we have 1700 square feet of space designed specifically for you to personally practice social skills with your dog— just like visiting Home Depot or Lowes, except our space was specifically created with you and your dog in mind. Stop in and we will give you a personal tour!

The terrain does the teaching.

Different textures, elevations, and surfaces encourage dogs to move with intention, develop body awareness, and engage with their environment in meaningful ways.

Confidence is build one step at a time.

Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

From all of us at The Farmstead PAC, thank you to those who gave everything — and to the families who carry their memory forward. 🇺🇸

Stillness is part of the rhythm. 🖤

One of the most overlooked skills for dogs is the ability to truly settle. Not every moment needs constant stimulation, chaos, or nonstop play. After movement, exploration, social time, and activity comes intentional rest.

These moments matter too.

At The Farmstead PAC, we create space for dogs to decompress, regulate, and simply exist comfortably around one another. Calm isn’t forced here — it’s cultivated through fulfillment, structure, and clear guidance.

✨Proof that a little maintenance goes a long
way✨

Our 15-minute comb-out sessions have been a hit lately-and it’s easy to see why. Even a short grooming session can help reduce shedding, prevent matting, and make double coats more manageable between grooms.

It’s easy to sign up! Just write your dog’s name on the kiosk sheet at drop-off. ✍🏼

Just a reminder for our Farmstead PAC families 🐾

Daycare Activities will be temporarily closed from Saturday, May 16th through Monday, May 25th while Tim attends the next session of a specialized continuing education program with one of his trusted mentors. Regular daycare operations will resume on Tuesday, May 26th.

At The Farmstead PAC, continuing education is an important part of how we continue growing our understanding of dog behavior, safety, structure, and fulfillment so we can better serve both dogs and their humans.

✨ Scheduled Sleep-over Activities will continue as planned and are not affected by this temporary closure.
✨ All daycare packages will automatically be extended by 10 days so no visits are lost during this time.

We truly appreciate your understanding and support as we continue investing in education that helps us maintain the standards and care we strive to provide every day.

Your dog notices more than we realize—especially our tension or our calm. ✨

It’s easy to overlook, but even something as simple as your breathing can influence the moment. 🫁 In uncertain or stressful situations, many people unknowingly hold their breath, and dogs are often sensitive to those subtle changes.

The next time you feel yourself getting tense, try taking a slow inhale followed by a noticeable exhale. 😮‍💨 Sometimes that small reset can help both you and your dog feel a little more grounded. 💛

Most behavior issues don’t come from dogs being “bad.” More often, they stem from unmet needs.

Dogs need opportunities to move, explore, rest, problem solve, and learn how to regulate themselves appropriately. When those needs go unmet, behavior is usually the first thing we notice.

At The Farmstead PAC, we focus on fulfilling dogs both psychologically and physiologically through structured activities, environmental exploration, appropriate social interaction, rest, and guidance throughout the day. A fulfilled dog often looks more balanced, adaptable, and settled — not just tired.
