*This is not a post bashing our vet. We appreciate them beyond words, which is why we want to pay this bill down and continue to use them to care for the rescue dogs*.

Good evening to all of our supporters. Unfortunately, this isnt a happy post, its an extreme call for help. The vet we use has been sold. They will no longer see any of our rescue dogs until we pay down at least half the current bill which over 8 grand (which we totally understand). We have a dog that still needs to undergo heartworm treatment as well as a dog that needs a mass removed. Sadly, until the bill gets paid down, they won't be able to receive the care they need. HFE has been around since 2003. HFE used to be 1 of the largest rescues in the city.. Over the years, more and more rescues have opened (and closed), resulting in way less donations and foster homes. Don't get us wrong, the more reputable rescues, the better. The city definitely needs help with the stray/breeding epidemic, but it has been financially devastating for HFE. We may have to close the doors after almost 25 years if we can't raise the funds to pay half the vet bill down. Being involved in rescue has always been hard financially and mentally. The past few years have been devastating trying to keep the doors open. Unfortunately, this may be the straw that breaks the camels back for HFE. Hi everyone we will be at Petco Highland Indiana 12-4 Saturday August 16 we have two Rott Shep puppies left and 3 cocapoos adorable and adorable kittens ready for adoption!

Call 708 955 8375 if interested! Kittens and Cats up for adoption! They are all looking for a loving forever home! The adults are all up to date on shots and neutered! As asked often, yes they can all be renamed, even the adults. They all get along with other cats/kittens.

Binxy got adopted today! The other kittens when brought back went running to Da baby who groomed them and greeted them right away, it was so cute!

Kittens born May 2nd this year.

1. Coral the tan, female. Loves to explore! She is a bundle of energy and a good girl!

2. Binxy the black, male. Adopted!

3. Taylor the grey, male. He loves to explore and show his siblings everything! He loves his play time with his people and cuddles down when done.

4. Sandy the orange girl. She loves to play tag! Cuddling after a hard days work is for her. Just another cute bundle of energy!

5. Da Baby, black with white patch, male. He is 4 years old. He loves playing with the kittens! He has been looking for a home for at least 4 months now. He loves to play with teaser toys, loves his pets, and cuddles great! He also hum meows, which is just adorable! The vet thought he was only 2!

6. Pauly, black, male, he is 10 years old but don't let that fool you. He plays just like a kitten! With the kittens! He has also been looking for around 4 months. He loves to play and also has the hum meow. He is looking for a cuddle human who lovs to pet him and play! The vet thought he was 5!

7. Oreo, tuxedo, male, 2-3 years old. He has been looking for his forever home for a little more then 7 months. Want a cat that likes to be petted? Or brushed? Held? Well thats him! He loves humans and loves attention! He plays well and cuddles awesome!

Still looking for their forever homes! They do not have to be homed together. They are all males, neutered and up to date on shots! They can be renamed. (That was often asked)

1. Da Baby, 4 years old, black with a white patch. The vet thought he was only 2! He loves to play and cuddle. He hums to talk. He gets along with other cats and kittens!

2. Pauly, 10 years old, black. The vet thought he was 4 to 5 years old. Pauly loves to play and cuddle! He gets along with other cats and loves kittens!

3. Oreo 3 years old, tuxedo. He loves to be held and would make a great lap cat! He plays and gets along with other cats and kittens.
