We will be up and running second week of January… reorganizing and catching up
on long over due projects for the flock , deep cleaning , vet appts for yearly check ups , retiring some old toys and designing new … big changes for the new year … revamping sanctuary and toys

Big shout out to Christine’s Chop shop
Sent our itty bitty sanctuary’s flock some yummy Xmas treats , apple cinnamon bombs…. Can’t wait to give it to em this evening ( just cleaned house so they have to wait to go in cages 🤣🤣🤣)
The heart and beautiful soul on Christine is beyond amazing and she definitely a saint !!!
Merry Christmas 🎄 please check her shop out the best parrot food and treats and few for fur babies too… I even feed veggie bites and fruit bites to my buns and guinea pigs 🩷💜🩷🩷

Parrots are not only meant to be wild but they are very social beings . They bond with only one parrot for life . Parrots when bonded for life do everything together, eat, sleep, play, preen, drink , 24/7 nonstop inseparable, people can not give them that kind of attention or meet those needs but we do the best we can. Here at our sanctuary we want them to be bonded with another parrot so they are not lonely and play and be what they meant to be as much as they can be . I do have a few that are velcroed to me but I am working and teaching them to be more of a macaw than a person …. And hopefully find them to a match , this takes time , slow introduction, patience and finding right personalities …. This is a perfectly loving bonded pair …. And they are very happy together

So we had something happen today …
Remember our recent surrenders Rio, Radar and Killian ( which are flourishing and doing wonderful btw)
Well we found out quite a few things that wasn’t disclosed to us … and I received this message from Iowa Parrot Rescue ….
At first glance I was like awwww we have a new follower for the sanctuary… than as I read on my heart dropped and broke than I was furious and than I was thinking scammer than I saw the pictures sent and heart dropped ….
I got myself together and asked Sarah to call me … and boy oh boy it was informative and it was unbelievable and entertaining and we had laughs … and I am glad she called .
Owner surrendered the trio with no details hardly
Come to find out he adopted Rio and Radar from Iowa Parrot Rescue and had signed contract and Sarah from the rescue whom on top of her adoptions and the well being of these parrots reached out
We talked for couple hours and now we compared notes and ill be sent file for the duo
I will be filling out adoption paperwork for them as it’s their protocol and i respect that immensely and the duo will stay here with us as Rio is bonded to me and Radar is now bonded with Killian which isn’t with Iowa parrot rescue so we don’t want to break them up.
I appreciate Sarah so so much and her professionalism and the support and immense care she has and her passion … I also thank her for the laughs …
People if you have a contract honor it
Other rescues will work with other rescues if they are legit…. A simple phone call is all it would take …
For instance anything happens to me Simba my Velcro B&G I adopted from Birds and Beaks he will go back to Shannon at B&B ……
So please if you adopt honor the contract and let rescues and sanctuaries know as we do collaborate and talk and follow each other .. truth will come out.
And thank god these babies will stay in the home the so deserve and get to be overly loved and cuddled 🥰🥰🥰🥰
