It IS possible to have a clean mouth and a happy tail! 🦷 Here are our tips:

→ Use a soft-bristled brush and pet-safe toothpaste—peanut butter, anybody?
→ Aim to brush daily or at least 3-4 times a week. Consistency is key! (easier said than done, we know!)
→ If you can, start brushing when they’re young — it's easier to create good habits early.
→ Create a calm environment. Chill vibes = happy brushing!
→ Don’t forget to reward your pet with praise!

Brushing your pet's teeth 3-4 times a week—or every day if you can—can help prevent dental disease! However, it's also essential to remember that regular visits with our team play a crucial role in your pet's dental care routine.

Big shoutout to Dr. Emily King, who’s been serving pets and their people in Durham for the past 10 years. A North Carolina native and NC State Vet School grad, Dr. King brings deep expertise in internal medicine, wound care, soft tissue surgery, and dentistry. She’s also a Certified Fear Free professional who’s known for her calm, compassionate approach—even the most nervous pets feel at ease with her.

Outside of the clinic, she’s an outdoors lover with a full house of rescue pets and a soft spot for one-eyed animals.

Are they reluctant to put weight on a leg?
Do they struggle to get up or lie down?
Are they showing less interest in walks and playtime?
Do they seem more irritable?
Are they hesitating to jump onto furniture or climb stairs?
Do they have noticeable swelling or warmth around joints?
