🥵 Temps are rising today and next week (91° and climbing). If you're out and about, bring water for both ends of the leash. A good rule of thumb: if you're reaching for your water bottle, offer your dog some too. It's heating up out there, DSM friends! We've had a cooler stretch, but weekend temps are looking to rise again. We like to share this reminder periodically, because it's so important.
Before your afternoon walk, try this: press the back of your hand to the sidewalk or pavement and hold for 7 seconds. Too hot for your hand = too hot for their paws. When air temps hit 85°+, asphalt in direct sun can reach 130°+ within minutes. Stick to grass, go early/late, or grab a pair of paw booties if you're walking midday.

It’s HOT outside but it’s cool in the store! Stop in today for our doggie beach pawty, it’ll be easiest to park in the ramp on the north side of the mall (between D***s and Kohls). It’s shaded and there’s only a short stretch of paved ground for your dog to walk over. See you soon!
