✨Rockkkyyyy✨

As you can imagine my heart melted when I met this little guy! Just freshly 8 weeks old and came in to see me for his first vet visit🥹

He did so great and his parents and I talked about lots of important puppy things. always make a point to emphasize positive experiences while they’re in their main socialization window - which is up to 14 weeks in dogs!! This is the time to expose them to things in a safe and positive way so that they are less likely to be fearful of things later in their life (noises, textures, how to relax alone, etc, etc!

Can’t wait to see him again for his next visit in 3-4 weeks so I can feed him more tuna☺️☺️🩵🩵

It's not easy but it's doable! And that's coming from someone who feels sad for inanimate objects...☺️😝

When I was younger | never considered being a vet because I heard from so many people - "oh that's too hard, I could never euthanize someone's pet, I could never see an animal suffer, etc etc"
But then I thought about it and reframed it in my mind.

Rather than thinking I couldn't do that I realized I am actually the perfect person for this job. I care so deeply about animals and I know that pet parents can feel that. I realized I can be the person who helps ease suffering of animals AND their humans, and the rest was history!

And guess what, I almost always cry after euthanasia appts because it is SAD and that is OK!!! We are all human

Animals rarely give us obvious clues when they’re in pain or discomfort. Being the one responsible for advocating for my patients and finding the source of that discomfort, is one of the biggest honors of my job.🩵🩵
