We were all smiles and for good reason. Iggy was coming home with us! Pulled from a puppy mill after spending years and years as a breeder, a senior who'd never seen the sun, grass, or the love of a human. Peggy Race his foster mom was his first exposure to the good life and we can't thank her enough for her loving care of Iggy in those first months.
From that day forward Iggy was the center of our world.
Helping him thrive was our only goal and he did! He got healthy, we got his heart condition under control, and he came out of his shell everyday. We navigated a lot of things with this boy but he overcame everything. We adore him from day #1.
On Wednesday May 27th it became clear that Iggy was tired, his poor heart worn out. We made the painful decision to say goodbye and not let him suffer even for 1 minute.
He's crossed the bridge now, joining so many other pups we love and miss every day.
We had a great "team" and we are so grateful for them all,
Thank you seems inadequate.
Creature Comforts Veterinary was at our side for the entire 3 years, helping us navigate the challenges.
Lorrie Mumper and family were he second family, loving him and caring for him when we went away.
Witte's Natural Veterinary Care, Ltd. provided us with critical diagnostics earlier this year that helped us get a picture of his heart.
Shadow Dog Photography for providing us with lasting memories of our precious boy.
Peggy Race his first "Mom" who spent weeks helping Iggy adjust to life outside the mill.
So many others have interacted with Iggy at the store and were so patient with this precious soul as he wasn't always ready to be petted or even approached.
Our lives will never be the same, we cherished every second,
We will love and miss you forever sweet Iggy
