Just a reminder that Maine has some pretty delicious foreign bodies for cats and dogs! Lobster shells, clam shells, mussel shells, and corn on the cob are all easily found on dinner tables, picnic tables, and trash cans! Sometimes we can get the chewed smaller pieces of corn cobs and shells to pass... but it can be painful and uncomfortable! Even dogs who never get into the trash at home MIGHT be tempted by the smell of seafood and butter. If you don't want to spend your summer evenings with us in our clinic, take a second to secure your delicious foreign bodies!

Stella enjoyed her pack walk this afternoon. Thank you Maine-ly K9 for allowing us to join you. This is true socialization all dogs were calm, under control and enjoyed their walk on this beautiful summer day at the Brewer waterfront. It doesn’t need to be flashy and fancy to be great training. We currently do not have any openings for board and trains. However Maine-ly K9 does have a spot available. Contact them to see what your options are. They are friendly and fair with you and your pup. Good dogs!

Bandit getting some e collar training in. He enjoys exploring and having freedom. But his owners also like to be able to walk him without him pulling. So earlier today, we did a walk with another dog that was on leash and did some E collar training at the park. Good boy bandit.

It is not a bad idea to have a first aid kid for your pets. Keep it stocked and up to date. Yes, there are ones you can purchase. However, you can also make one for your pets as well. If your going hiking bring it, leave one in your vehicle or have one in your home. It’s better to have one ready if needed than not when needed.

Mansa got to come back and visit with us this past week. It’s always great to see that the training has paid off and that the owners followed through on their end as well. Good boy Mansa we are proud of you and the fellas love having you around too!
