Today is World Rabies Day and we'd like to remind you that we have rabies in the state of Maine. All pets should be vaccinated for rabies, even indoor cats.
Rabies is a zoonotic disease ( can be passed from animals to people) and is a fatal disease.
There have been several reports of positive rabies tests in the state of Maine for various animals.
Rabies vaccine clinics are often done through towns where it can be given to your pets if you cannot get into a veterinary practice.
