This mischievous pup scarfed down a corn cob before the owner could get it away. We were able to visualize it in the stomach on radiographs. It is imperative to remove these before they pass into the intestine and get obstructed. Dr. G and two of our amazing staff members stayed late Wednesday night to attempt to remove the corn cob via gastroscopy. Fortunately, we were successful, and were able to spare the pup from having abdominal surgery and all of the recovery that that would have entailed. He was able to go home the same night minus the corn cob! 🐶🚫🌽

Our c-section frenchies were in for their second round of puppy vaccines last week. They are the bestest, silliest, beautifulist puppies 🤗🤪. Several are still looking for their forever homes. The amazing clients that bred them are only having the one litter (we spayed mama during c-section) and consider them their children, so are very selective about where they go. I told them I would post, so if any of you fine folks are looking to add a family member, we can get you in touch with the owners. 💙💙 -Dr. G

I was petting Pickles, our clinic cat, Friday night and felt something in her front leg. I took a radiograph, and this sweet girl had been previously shot! Video of BB removal in comments. Little lidocaine to numb it up, and she did great! Got that nasty thing out of her. 😭🔫🐈‍⬛

My sweet little old lady, Tela, came out of retirement this week to donate blood for a wonderful little patient with severe anemia during lunch on Thursday. The little dog's red blood cell count was 3% prior to the transfusion (should be closer to 40%). After, it was at 30% and so far holding well! You are a good dog and a hero, Tela 🤗. Jerky bites during and cheeseburger after (NOT doctor recommended, but these were extenuating circumstances) made it better. - Dr. G 💙💙

Happy Saturday! Up bright and early doing a day of liver disease lecture with Dr. Twedt from CSU. We have multiple liver disease cases that we have been managing lately, so this was a timely lecture track to attend. - Dr. G 👨‍⚕️☕️📚

I am down in Birmingham at Southern Veterinary Conference getting my learn on to better care for your pets. Our amazing staff is in the office today and are available to schedule appointments, refill meds, and perform tech procedures. I will be back in the office Monday AM. - Dr. G 👨‍⚕️🤓📚

OMG! 😍😍😍 Our after hours c-section pups came in for their first puppy visit today. They are beautiful and so so sweet! 🤗

Friday will be a "tech day" only with no doctor in the clinic. Dr. Greenbaum is attending Southern Veterinary Conference in Birmingham for continuing education. Dr. G will be in the office Thursday morning to see any emergent cases before heading out. This kitty presented with chronic nasal congestion and sneezing that did not respond to medical treatment. Dr. Greenbaum was able to use our endoscope to visualize a nasopharyngeal polyp. The polyp was removed, and kitty is doing great and can breathe through his nose again! Image from scope and excised polyp and mucus accumulation in comments.

Good mornin' Facebook fam! With Dr. B's transitioning to retirement, and my not yet bringing in a new veterinarian, I have been absolutely buried (which I know you all know, and I so so appreciate your patience in working with us on scheduling!) and have had to stop taking new clients so I can devote my full attention and care to our current patients. We have received two 1 star reviews in the past month from non clients that wanted to get in that have brought the 4.9 we've had for years down to a 4.8. We are grieving the loss of our clinic matriarch, Versace. She was the best clinic cat we could have ever asked for. Other than Dr. Bryan, she has been here longer than anyone on staff, arriving prior to Dr. Greenbaum coming home as a doctor. She lived a full life of 18 years and was so so loved. Rest easy, Versace. 💙💙

My favorite memory of Versace is how she would pop out of the cabinets while clients were alone in an exam room, and hearing the surprised, "Uhhh, is there supposed to be a cat in here?!" I always joked it was like the Phantom of the Opera, and she had secret passages to move throughout the clinic. - Dr. G 😼
