Are you prepared for New Year’s Eve fireworks? We’re here to help.
Fireworks can be stressful for pets, especially when the noise starts earlier — and lasts later — than expected. A little planning can go a long way.
Fireworks Safety Checklist for Pets
• Check fences and gates for loose boards or gaps
• Keep pets leashed when outside, even in fenced areas
• Expect fireworks at all hours, not just late New Year’s Eve
• Bring pets indoors before the noise starts
• Create a quiet, secure space with familiar bedding or toys
• Close windows and curtains to reduce noise and flashes
• Turn on a TV, radio, or white noise for background sound
• Make sure ID tags and microchip info are up to date
As we head into the New Year, we also want to share a quick reminder for our pet families:
The clinic will close at noon today (New Year’s Eve), and boarding is still available, though reservations are filling quickly. If your pet needs care or a safe place to stay during the fireworks, we encourage you to call us this morning.
