This is the hardest and most gut wrenching post I have ever had to write. Mishka, who fought so bravely, lost her battle to mycobacterium this past Thursday, November 6th at OSU. She became very lethargic on Wednesday. At OSU Vet Emergency they discovered that her iron levels were low. To give her a fighting chance we opted for a blood transfusion, but on Thursday, her internal medicine vet discovered that the mycobacterium was rapidly spreading causing her intense pain that IV Pain Meds were having little effect. We were able to spend time with her that afternoon, along with Igor, and be with her at the end. We are all devastated and Igor only knows his pack has left. Fly high baby girl.
