* pets that get motion sickness or are afraid of car rides
* pets and/or their people that are nervous of nail trims
* pets that may need special time, attention, and comforting to overcome their fear of nail trims, including those that may need to be muzzled—please note that if at all possible, we try to first work with your pet without a muzzle as possible, as our end goal is to have a happy, non-muzzled pet who is more comfortable with getting their nails trimmed!

Why Hot Asphalt is Dangerous:

Thin Paw Pads:
Dog paw pads are relatively thin and sensitive, easily burned by hot surfaces.

Heat Transfer:
Asphalt can become extremely hot, especially on sunny days, and quickly transfer heat to the paw pads, causing burns.

How to Protect Your Dog’s Paws:

Choose Alternative Walking Surfaces:
Opt for grass, shaded paths, or dirt instead of pavement when possible.

Test the Surface:
Use the “5-second rule” to check if the asphalt is too hot: if you can’t comfortably keep your hand on it for 5 seconds, it’s too hot for your dog’s paws.

Paw Protection:
Consider using paw balms or booties to create a barrier between the pavement and your dog’s paws.

Walk at Optimal Times:
Avoid walks during the hottest parts of the day, and consider early morning or evening walks when the pavement is cooler.

Signs of Paw Burns:
Blisters or swelling on the paw pads, Redness or inflammation, Licking or chewing at the paws, and Pain or reluctance to walk.

If you suspect your dog has a paw burn:

To say I love my job would be the normal thing to do… BUT to SHOW the love I have for my passion shows another level of dedication💖🥹

You might just see a happy woman with a dog in her arms but SHE saw a mother’s relief to seeing her babies nails getting done without it being a traumatic experience for them both AND THIS IS WHAT MAKES WHAT I DO AMAZING.

I LOVE BEING BACK with Dimple Pawz🥹 and with these experiences confirm that it’s where I’m needed to be❣️
