🐾 Bird Flu & Cats: What You Need to Know! 🐾

We prioritize the safety and well-being of all pets in our care, and we want to share important information about H5N1 (bird flu) and cats.

🐱 Did you know? Cats are susceptible to H5N1, though the overall risk of exposure is currently low. However, certain activities can increase their chances of infection.

🔸 Cats Most at Risk:
✔️ Eating raw or undercooked poultry or unpasteurized dairy products
✔️ Exposure to sick or deceased wild birds (especially waterfowl like ducks and geese)
✔️ Contact with poultry or dairy cows in farms or backyard flocks

💡 How to Keep Your Cat Safe:
🏠 Keep them indoors or in enclosed catios
🚫 Avoid feeding raw poultry or unpasteurized dairy
🐓 Prevent contact with poultry, dairy cows, or backyard flocks
🦆 Keep them away from sick or dead wild birds

🚨 Signs of Infection in Cats:
🔹 Respiratory issues (coughing, sneezing, trouble breathing)
🔹 Lethargy & weakness
🔹 Neurological signs (trouble walking, disorientation)
🔹 Sudden illness or death
