The Traveling Trimmer is designed to help pet owners in need- Trimming their pet's nails at home My name is Shelby!

I am currently working full-time as a Veterinary Technician here in the Quad Cities. I have been working in the field and practicing my craft for almost four years now. Through a friend of a relative, it was brought to my attention that in our area, there is a need and a want for someone that is willing to travel to people's homes to trim their pet's nails. Taking your pet to the vet for a trim ca

n be a lot, both for you as the owner and your furry companion. Some pets do not like the car and some have anxiety when going to the vet. The Traveling Trimmer eliminates both of these issues! It is my hope to benefit many pet owners by doing what I love- Caring for animals of all shapes and sizes! While working full-time, my schedule can vary, but I will do my very best to schedule a time that works well for us both!

Aussies have a very special place in my heart. I have been very lucky to meet, care for, and love Mr. Copper man. Based on this picture, I would say he loves me too 🥰

Frenchie Friday! 🐾❤️

Taylor and I had to privilege to meet and trim up these two ADORABLE French bulldogs a few weeks ago. We are so lucky to have made friends with Bubbles 🫧 and Olive 🫒

The best part of my job is meeting and connecting with clients and their pets 🥰

Ahhh! Life gets so busy, I lose track of just how long it has been since I have made a post and updated you on what is going on!

I am still out and about, traveling, and trimming! While I myself have cut back on the amount of promoting I am doing (simply because of my work schedule these days!) I appreciate every single one of you that puts my name and my business out there when people are looking for at home nail trims! At this time, I AM scheduling new clients.

I have been so lucky to have retained many FANTASTIC clients, as well as continue to grow in so many ways.

Thank you for always supporting, trusting, and loving me in my care for your kiddos.

If you are unsure what you are looking for, nail trimming can be extremely difficult. Especially on the kiddos with darker nail tones. This photo is a GREAT reference on what properly trimmed nails should look like. The “quick” (or the vein) in dogs (and cats) toes is very sensitive. It is important to expose it to encourage recession, but, you don’t want to trim too far back, as this can cause bleeding! When trimming your pets toe nails, it is important to take your time. Trimming little bits at a time, while tedious, allows me to be more accurate in my trim for your kiddos ❤️🐾

Family, friends, and clients:

As the veterinary care system adapts to this new respiratory disease that is floating around, it is very important to keep your kiddos safe! This means multiple things:

1. Ensure that your pet is current on their Bordetella and Flu vaccines.
2. Keep your kiddos home when able! Avoid boarding, grooming, daycare, and dog parks.
3. If your pup is not feeling well, call your veterinarian immediately to get your kiddo scheduled for an appointment so that it does not get worse.

During this time, consider having your pets nails trimmed at home! By doing so, you are limiting their exposure to other pets that may carry the illness as they are not leaving their own area! If you have questions, concerns, or are wondering if an in home nail trim is even an option for your pet, reach out! I would be happy to talk about your situation and what we can do to keep your pet happy, healthy, and comfortable ❤️🐾
