Mini Sebastopol eggs.... 6 of 7 set so far are all developing. #7 is a few days behind so I expect development.

I'm reading a really great book about incubation i'll share in another post and credit who shared it when I can find the info.

Enjoying the process of watching the development never gets old.

BUT

It's so hard to be patient when you have been EAGERLY awaiting babies of a specific breed.

Big news from the flock today! 🪺✨

Our Mini Sebastopol geese have officially started laying, and we just transferred 4 precious eggs right into the incubator! 🌡️🥚

There is nothing quite like the excitement of incubator season—watching the temperatures, checking the humidity, and counting down the days until those little fluff balls make their entrance. 🐣

Stay tuned for progress updates and candling photos as we watch them develop!

Where are my "egg-spert" goose incubation folks?

My success rate with hatching geese is........ 1.

It is difficult to get all 3 colors to stand still together long enough to catch a good photo clearly defining their amazing color.

Black East Indies were some of our 1st littles and have always been some of my favorites. The color is like none other.

Avid research of the breed led me to learning there are more color variations although it is rare to find them.

Blue is an "accepted" color.
Silver is not yet.

We love the unique and less known breeds and colors. We enjoy teaching others about what we have learned.

Every time folks see these here on the farm it's "what are those?!?!"

That is not a racoon or opossum print and it's gotten lucky here on my farm too many times due to human error(That's me, i'm the human)

No ill will, it's just being an animal but it's going to have to do it elsewhere.

What is the best go-to for trapping an animal this size?

Animal control isn't an option neither is the NRCS.
