☀️Hot Dog Alert☀️
It's getting Toasty out there and our pups are gonna be MELTING (not really, but you get it!)

With temperatures soaring this week due to an intense heat wave, we want to assure you that your dog’s health and safety remain our top priority.

Here's how we are staying chill:
•Shorter times outdoor playing with lots of water/pool access: so that means more indoor play in small groups.
•We always have frozen pup-sicles if you would like to get one for your pet
•Close Monitoring: Staff will closely watch for any signs of overheating or discomfort.

We appreciate your trust and cooperation. Together, let’s keep our furry friends safe and happy during this heat wave!

PSA for all our wonderful clients and patients!
It appears that the dog cough and cold/flu season is upon us. We have had a few cases of Kennel Cough pop up so we wanted to go ahead and discuss what we should all look out for!
Respiratory issues can often be tough to stop. Because of this we recommend the following points to lessen the risk of kennel cough or other respiratory issues to our other patients

1. If your dog is coughing and/or sneezing and needs medical attention have Dr. Rob come to you to lessen the risk of exposure to other animals. If you need to come into Barkfield, let us know your dog has been coughing beforehand so we can take the appropriate precautions.
2. If your dog is coughing and/or sneezing please do not bring your dog in for boarding or daycare.
3. We recommend Bordetella (Kennel Cough) nasal vaccines yearly for all animals. We require it for all boarders and daycare pups. If your animal is out of date come in for a booster ASAP
4. We do not require Canine Influenza vaccination for boarding or daycare but strongly recommend it. This is especially true for animals with high levels of exposure to other dogs.
