We've welcomed dozens of new dogs to Furkids in the past few weeks - all colors, sizes, breeds, and backgrounds. Some were strays, some were surrendered, and some came from overcrowded shelters. But they all have one thing in common: they're ready to begin their next chapter. 🧡

Whether you're looking for a couch potato, hiking buddy, or a playful pup to grow up with your kids, we just might have the perfect match for you. Come meet them and change a life.. maybe even your own. 🐾🫶

4th of July is quickly approaching, and while it's a fun holiday for humans - it can be downright terrifying for your pets! Shelters across the country see a surge in lost pets after July 4th due to the loud sounds of fireworks. In the event that your pet escapes and becomes lost, your best chance of being reunited is by getting them microchipped!

Make sure your pet has the best chance at making it back home by getting them microchipped at Furkids' low-cost Vaccine & Microchip clinic this Saturday, June 28th! Thanks to Petco Love, the first 150 cats will receive a free FVRCP vaccine, and the first 150 dogs will receive a free DHPP vaccine, while supplies last. 💜

June is Women's Golf Month - and we've got a very special event coming up for all of you lady golfers out there! Join us at the gorgeous Atlanta National Golf Club on Tuesday, September 23rd for "Swing Fore Strays", a Furkids charity golf tournament! ⛳ furkids.org/golf

We'll be spending the day golfing for a good cause, enjoying food & drinks, and all kinds of exciting prizes! Furkids is excited to announce the launch of our "Doggie Day Out" program! 🐶🚙 Did you know that dogs who spend even just one day out of the shelter have a higher likelihood of being adopted? One field trip could change a Furkids' life!

Time outside of the shelter is crucial for shelter dogs. It gives them a chance to decompress, explore the world outside of the shelter, learn real-life skills, and meet potential adopters! 🐾

You can get involved by creating a VolunteerHub account on our website (furkids.org/volunteer) and signing up for your Doggie Day Out. When you get to our shelter (1520 Union Hill Road in Alpharetta, GA), our team will chat with you about what kind of dog you're comfortable with. We'll give you a backpack with all the supplies you'll need to have a successful outing! Summer is the busiest time at Furkids, and with almost 1,200 animals in our program - we've been hard at work these past few days! Here is your behind-the-scenes look at what happened at Furkids this week. 🐾

👩‍⚕️ Every week, dozens of new animals arrive at our doors, and our incredible medical team is moving full speed ahead to keep up. This week alone, 105 cats and dogs were spayed or neutered, helping to break the cycle of pet overpopulation and give more animals a healthier start.
🐱 On Wednesday, residents from Vitality Senior Living stopped by Shiloh Gardens to unwind and spend time outside! We're so proud that our headquarters has become a place where people can relax, connect, and leave with a smile.
🪷 One of our favorite seasons has arrived.. the lily pads in our koi ponds are in full bloom! From vibrant yellow and pink to deep reds, they're a sight to see at Shiloh Gardens!
🐶 We love getting updates from our adopter! Sweet Nala, one of our favorite little pitties, was adopted a few weeks ago. This weekend, her new family took her to the beach for the very first time! Seeing our animals thrive in their forever homes is the heart of why we do what we do.
🐈‍⬛ A few weeks ago, we rescued 25 cats and kittens who were abandoned at a cemetery. We got them the medical help they needed, gave them some love, and some of them have already found themselves a home! We get dozens of calls like this every week - and with your help, we can continue to say yes and save these precious lives. You can make a lifesaving donation at furkids.org/donation.
