Our bonded pair, April and Etta, had their first vet check-up today. Both girls are lovely, though they do have some health updates:

- General: Both have skin issues and respiratory conditions. Because of their respiratory health, we are postponing their dental procedures until they are doing a bit better.
- Etta (Dachshund): Has a few mammary masses, a heart murmur, and fistulas.
- April (Chihuahua): Missing a lot of teeth. Has a significant respiratory issue. She weighed in at 4 lbs 13 oz.

Pixie needs a forever home. Help share her. The right home for her is a single-person, female-only household with no other dogs or cats. She is currently fostered in northwest Indiana. She is a five-year-old stray who is fully vetted and looking for her forever home. True to her red coat, she is strong-willed and will thrive in the right environment.

Adoption is the endgame in rescue! Photos of adoptions always make us smile, and today is another happy day for Frankie, who has found a home with his new mom, dad, and canine sister, Gretchen.

Thank you to Bernice and Jay for adopting, and to foster mom Robin for another great job preparing Frankie for his new journey.

☠️ Unbelievable
Well we got the whole sock and Auggie is doing fine.

🎃🙏🙏🎃
Not sure if Foster Auggie was going for a Trick or Treat but he ate a Halloween human sock and he could not pooped it out so today unfortunately we are at the Vet to remove it from his stomach. Hopefully the ER vet can use endoscopy rather than surgery. Prayers needed for this little 7 lb stinker.

It is our mission to take in old or young - sick or healthy and those in between. Foster Peewee was abandoned at a gas station in pretty rough shape - flea ridden sores on his body, 2 large tumors, rotten teeth, and quite skinny. Thanks to a guardian angel - Laura he received warm baths, food, and a nice warm blanket. Laura then contacted us to see if we could help. Peewee goes to the vet tomorrow for bloodwork and lab work. Sweet boy you are the road to a new life.
❤️ Thanks Laura and Nick for getting Peewee today.

What a cutie!
Meet Tucker he’s a 4 month old dilute red longhair pup. Tucker was born blind but sure seems to be able to get around. Tucker goes to the vet Monday so please NO applications yet. He is being fostered in NW Indiana. For his safety Tucker will require a fenced yard. Keep watching Facebook for updates.

Happy Sunday from foster Mango! Mango came into rescue with IVDD back pain. After seeing the vet, he is on conservative treatment for a couple of weeks. This means medication and strict crate rest. If this does not help him, he will then see a neurologist. Fingers crossed for this very very sweet boy.
