Penne Lane Dog Boarding We are a small facility offering personalized boarding for your dog. We are a small facility located in Crescent, Iowa. Tim and I (Martie) are huge dog lovers.

We opened for business on August 1st of 2015. Many dogs have come and gone in our household. We have a passion for the senior dogs and have adopted many of them over the years. People ask us how we do it. It never gets easier when it’s time for us to let them go. We say, how can you not? Unfortunately or fortunately, however you choose to look at it, there are so very many more dogs waiting for lo

ving homes. We can accommodate a maximum of six dogs at one time. This allows us to spend personalized, one on one time with your dog or dogs. We have a large yard with a six foot fence, are licensed and insured and live on site. We have two dogs. Ozzie is our four year old German Shepherd. Dixie is our 14 year old Bassett. Frankie has already beaten euthanasia twice.

Once in Texas after raising her puppies.

Once here in Nebraska, when she was pulled at the very last moment.

She is still here because someone believed she deserved a chance.

Now she needs someone to believe in her again.

Frankie isn’t an easy placement.

If we’re being completely honest, she may be one of the hardest dogs we’ve ever tried to help an owner find a home for through our Courtesy Post Program.

Frankie must be the only pet in the home. This is not something that can be trained away or managed casually. For everyone’s safety, Frankie cannot live with other animals.

Because of that, her options are extremely limited — and right now she is sitting in boarding, where she is starting to decline emotionally and physically.

And that’s the heartbreaking part.

Because everyone who meets Frankie says the same thing:

❤️ She loves people.

Once Frankie trusts you, she bonds deeply. It can take a little time for her to feel safe, but once you’re in her circle, you’re in for life.

She is affectionate, loyal, funny, and incredibly devoted.

No one is pretending Frankie is perfect.

She isn’t.

But she is worth it.

Frankie’s ideal home:

🐾 No other pets
🐾 No young children
🐾 Secure fenced yard
🐾 Patient foster or adopter willing to give her time to decompress
🐾 Someone who wants a one-and-only kind of dog

Muddy Paws will provide professional training support at no cost to help Frankie and her new family succeed, and we will not leave you to figure this out alone.

We know this is a big ask.

But there has to be someone out there looking for exactly the dog Frankie is.

Right now, she urgently needs a place to go.
