This beautiful 4-year-old girl may be a little shy when you first meet her, but don't let that fool you! Give her a little time to warm up, and you'll quickly discover that she is the BIGGEST cuddle bug! 🥹❤️

Lynx absolutely LOVES yummy treats, chin rubs, and soaking up all the love and attention she can get! Once she feels comfortable, her sweet and affectionate personality really shines through.

All this precious girl needs is a little patience and a whole lot of love! She's looking for a forever family who will give her the time she needs to come out of her shell and show them just how wonderful she really is.

💔The number of foster families has recently dropped tremendously. We need your help!!

Sadly, that means even our youngest, cutest puppies are spending their days growing up inside the shelter instead of experiencing what puppyhood should look like.

We are desperately reaching out to our community to temporarily open their hearts and homes to one or two of our homeless pets!!

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Cub Scout Pack 119 and Bear Scout Pack 85 to Northshore Humane Society for some fun, learning and giving back!

Both groups worked hard to collect pet-related donations for our homeless dogs and cats, and we couldn't be more grateful! During their visits, the scouts also enjoyed an educational tour of our shelter, made special crafts for our shelter pets and got to spend some one-on-one time giving our dogs and cats lots of love and attention! 🐶🐱

We LOVE seeing young members of our community get involved in animal welfare and learn the importance of compassion, kindness and helping animals in need.

Piglet is a 3-year-old girl that came to us back in July with a litter of tiny babies in tow! Since then, Piglet has watched as each and every one of her puppies found their forever families. Now that all of her babies are happily adopted, it's FINALLY Mama Piglet's turn! 🥹❤️

Piglet is an incredibly loving, playful girl with the sweetest personality! She loves getting attention, spending time with people, and showing off her fun-loving side. She's got so much love to give and is just waiting for someone to give her the chance to share it!

After spending her time being a wonderful mama and watching all of her babies find their happily ever afters, we think it's about time someone spoiled HER for a change!

Northshore Humane Society is looking for amazing foster families to provide temporary love and care for pets in need. From tiny kittens to adult dogs, each furry friend just needs a safe place to land—and you could be their hero!

We provide everything you need to get started:
✔️ All veterinary care
✔️ Medications (if needed)
✔️ Preventatives
✔️ Bedding & kennel
✔️ Litter
✔️ Food

All we ask from you is:
💛 A safe and loving space
💛 Willingness to bring your foster to medical appointments, meet & greets, and occasional events

You’ll never be on your own, our experienced vet techs and doctor are always on call to answer questions or help with emergencies.

🚨SAMMIE UPDATE AFTER LSU VISIT🚨

Today, our sweet Sammie and Dr. Myers visited with the Veterinary Team at the LSU Veterinary Hospital to game plan where to go with Sammie's Medical Care.

As of now, Sammie is still regurgitating her food daily, even with blended wet food. While this isn't the progress we have hoped for, we are not giving up on our girl!

After today's visit, we have a new plan in place. We are trying new meds, changing up her food, finding a taller bowl stand, and scheduling another ballooning procedure along with a long list of diagnostic tests to see where we can go from here.

Sammie has an entire team of people fighting for her, but we couldn't do this without the generosity of our amazing community.
