It's time to get entries in for our second CEC / CDA Dressage Schooling Show. We offer all USEF/USDF tests, as well as Eventing and Western Dressage tests of choice. Our shows are friendly and welcoming and provide a great opportunity to practice your tests and get constructive feedback from a USDF L judge. For this show our judge is Augusta van Tongeren.

2026 Events:Instead of 3 Derbies, we are planning a Judged Trail Ride, one Derby, and a Versatility competition. We have much to offer at CEC and this seems to be a good way of utilizing our facilities, and making our events attractive for those people who would like to do something different but don’t necessarily want to jump. There will be year-end awards for this “trifecta” as there are for our dressage shows. Here are the dates:
7/12 Judged Trail Ride, 8/30 Derby, 10/18 Versatility. More details will follow, but in the meantime, please mark your calendars!

The chilly weather did nothing to dampen spirits at our successful first Dressage Show of 2026. Many thanks to our excellent judge Carly Collari, our super-scribe Karen Herrick Lendvay, and our dedicated and efficient CEC team.
2 memorable events made today particularly special: our first ever USDF Century Ride by Linda Calchera and Ninth Nine Mack, and a debut by a 22 year old rescued Amish horse, Tonto. He had once long ago done some driving but hadn't been ridden for at least 12 years. He was started gently under saddle when he arrived at CEC in September and today completed 2 introductory tests with one of our students, Lily Nahadedian. Both events were captured by Martha Weis Photography

We are so excited to start off with this great deal! We need some spring motivation for show season 😉

Join us at the barn for a sip and paint night!

When? December 12th at 6pm
Where? Connecticut Equestrian Center
What are we doing?
We are learning step by step how to paint a horsey beautiful landscape (could make a great gift for yourself, or for someone else!)
This is for riders, friends, and parents to come enjoy a night of fun! No riding, just vibing (and painting and sipping and snacking) 🙂

Fabulous Finale to our show season with today's Halloween Fun Show: Costume Class, Raise the Rail, Sit A Buck, Parent Leadline and regular classes, folowed by horseless Egg and Spoon and Raise the Rail on the lawn. So much fun! I love that our community comes together with such camaraderie, mutual respect, good sportmanship, seamless teamwork, and the overwhelming love of horses. Thank you to everyone who helped make this season such a success - too many to name you all but you know who you are. Look for the photos on Martha Weis Photography.

We had a perfect day for our final Dressage Show of the season. Many thanks to our judge Matthew Beasley and our ever-willing scribe, Karen Lendvay. These shows would not be possible without Emily Wilson, who sets up everything the day before and is Show Secretary on the day. CEC has a great team: instructors, students, parents, volunteers, and our competitors, from CEC and outside. Thank you all! Today we missed Martha Weis Photography but these 3 photos reflect the fun that was had.
