We also have a great love for animals, and love to share that passion by providing opportunities for unique animal experiences. Whether it is providing childhood memories that will last a lifetime, or a chance to escape from the craziness of life; the interactions are soothing for the soul of, both the humans and the furry and not so furry animals. National Wildlife Day is a global day for celebrating and raising awareness for wildlife, observed on both February 22nd and September 4th. The September date honors the birthday of famous conservationist Steve Irwin, while the February date was added to double efforts to help endangered animals worldwide. The day was created to bring attention to endangered species and the organizations working to protect them through conservation efforts.

We have a few adorable baby African Spurred Tortoises looking to be adopted!

These little ones can offer a unique and rewarding pet ownership experience and their charming personalities and quiet nature are a big plus.

It's a bear, it's a cat.... no it's a binturong!

What does the fox see?

Foxes can hunt at any time day or night. For a further boost to their sight, they have vertically slit pupils which allow for binocular vision. These not only help them hunt across a variety of light conditions but also allow foxes to focus on horizontal movement acutely.

Have you seen these feathered friends around the zoo?

We have some free range Guinea fowl that love to visit the zoo owned by some close neighbors. They are native to Africa and known for being excellent bug eaters, consuming ticks and other pests to help control populations. They are also loud, social, and territorial birds, making them natural "watchdogs" that alert other animals to danger. We love having them around Bee City!
