Apparently Pet Sitting is a competitive space. Some companies / people use interesting ways to attract clients and customers. Many months ago I sat down and wanted to focus on what makes Wild Heart Pet Sitting different. What sets us apart. And in sharing that information, it was "adopted" by another entity. Some say it's flattering. It's not.
They asked about our rates in a DM - I know this person is a pet sitter. I gave them our rates anyway. The same day they posted "we're increasing our rates".
The rate I offer for service goes beyond just a drop in. It's not an arbitrary number. My focus is ensuring your animals are happy while you're tending to life. The rate represents the experience I have caring for animals, the Certification of Pet First Aide & CPR, and my ability to get to a resource in the event of an emergency. The rate represents my dependability and punctuality. And that your animals will see my face each and every time. My promise to build a rapport with them.
If you're in any position, career, hustle, job, etc. Find what makes you different - what makes you stand out from everyone else. Don't borrow someone else's sparkle.
