Hi friends! Reminding you that feathered and scaly friends need regular checkups too! 🦜🦎🐢
Birds, reptiles, and exotic pets are experts at hiding illness, which means subtle health problems can go unnoticed until they become serious. Routine exams help monitor weight, nutrition, behavior, beak or shell condition, parasites, and overall wellness before issues progress.
As a general guideline:
• Birds should have wellness exams every 6–12 months
• Reptiles and turtles should typically be seen every 6–12 months depending on age and species
• Senior exotic pets or pets with health conditions may need more frequent visits
Preventative care is one of the best ways to help your exotic pets live longer, healthier lives 🩺💚
