Lucy does not enjoy shelter life. When visitors walk through the kennels, she jumps, barks, and bounces off the walls—none of which reflect who she really is.
The shelter is a stressful place for any dog, but especially for one like Lucy, who thrives on connection and attention. When strangers walk past her, they see a dog acting out. But we see a girl who’s simply overwhelmed, desperately hoping someone will stop and give her a chance to show off her beautiful bat ears, her hilarious wiggle butt, and her fast and furious helicopter tail.
Outside the kennel, Lucy is bubbly, lively, and affectionate. She loves to play, go on adventures, and ride in the car. In a home, she settles in easily—calm, relaxed, and content. She's truly the opposite of the anxious dog people see behind the kennel door.
Lucy would flourish in a home where she gets walks, playtime, and people who make her feel safe. She’s earned that chance.
Lucy is an almost 4-year-old, 65lb, spayed mixed breed that is up to date on vaccines, healthy, housetrained, and knows how to sit. She may prefer to be the only dog in the home, but we can always dog test her with your own dog to see if it's a right fit. She’s eager to please and more than ready to find her person!
