🐾 Want to help shelter animals feel more calm, loved, and less lonely? Join our Reading Buddies 101 orientation at the Humane Society of Charlotte! After one training, you’ll have ongoing access to read to our cats and dogs during open hours. It’s a sweet way to give comfort and companionship — both for them and you.

👏 Huge thanks to our friends at Waltonwood Senior Living, Waltonwood Cotswold, Waltonwood Providence for their incredible generosity! Together, they collected and donated more than 850 essential items for the pets at HSC as well as our community food bank — from food and treats to toys, litter, and more. 🐾💙

But that’s not all — Waltonwood also gave back in the most meaningful way by covering adoption fees for their residents and sponsoring fees for senior and special needs pets. Thanks to their kindness, more animals have found the loving homes they deserve. 🏡✨

"She is the sweetest girl in the world. A little loaf!! We renamed her Lira, and she always turns her head now when we call her by her new name. She already found her cozy spots, whether it’s on our laps or under the bed on my yoga mat. She acclimated to our new place so quickly exploring every little crevice and then finding the places that make her feel most safe and comfortable. She is the cuddliest girl I have ever met, she is constantly trying to get scratches and attention whenever she can. We love her so much and are so happy that we decided to adopt her."

This sweet young gal may be a little shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, her gentle personality shines through. Autumn loves exploring the world at her own pace and is looking for an adopter who will give her the time and patience she needs to blossom in her new home. 💛

She’s still working on her pup manners—like leash walking, learning about toys, and greeting new friends—so her perfect match will be someone excited to help her grow and thrive! 🐾

Adoptions at the Humane Society of Charlotte are first-come, first-served at our Adoption Center (1348 Parker Drive). No appointment needed.

🐾 Summer Camp 2025 was one for the books! ☀️

Over eight weeks, 128 campers explored, learned, and grew through unforgettable hands-on experiences with animals. From pet care and animal training to enrichment, safety, and even the Zones of Regulation, our campers had the chance to dive into both fun and learning. They even got a behind-the-scenes look at our clinic in action! 👀✨

A huge thank you to our amazing staff, volunteers, and our community partner, Carolina Waterfowl Rescue for helping us make this summer so impactful. 💚

And guess what? The fun isn’t over… ❄️ Our Winter Camp is right around the corner on December 22 & 29. Stay tuned for details!
