School Bus Studio 🎨🚍 School Bus Studio rolls up with creativity and fun to you! We would like to share our love for art, by taking the bus many different places.

From afterschool art classes to birthday parties and special events. 🖌✨ 🐾 And when I’m not making art, I’m hanging with furry friends—offering loving pet sitting services at my home. My art students and I would like to convert a school bus into a traveling art studio, and we want to make it a nonprofit organization, run by kids. To nursing homes, homeless shelters, hospitals, and anywhere else the bus wants to go.

🎨☀️ Summer Art Camps are officially underway, and the creativity is already flowing! ☀️🎨 (See last picture for schedule & pricing.)

From spray-paint masterpieces and wildlife sketches to pottery wheel creations and outdoor art adventures, our young artists have been busy exploring, creating, and building confidence through art. Watching kids try new techniques, get their hands muddy on the pottery wheel, and proudly show off their finished projects has been the highlight of our summer so far!

There’s still plenty of summer fun ahead, and we’d love to have your child join us. 🌲🎨

🦸‍♀️✨ SUPERGIRL ART PARTY ✨🦸‍♀️

What an incredible day of creativity, imagination, and superhero power! Young artists created their very own Supergirl mixed-media masterpieces, complete with flowing capes, sparkling details, and colorful backgrounds. 🌟🎨

Before we began, each artist chose a special superhero name and imagined the unique powers that make them extraordinary. Then they brought their superhero selves to life through art!

One of my favorite things about teaching art is watching kids discover that they already have superpowers—kindness, courage, creativity, perseverance, and the confidence to be themselves. ❤️

Knowing how much I invested in creating School Bus Studio and following my own creative vision, I can see why Jim Bishop built his castle (Bishop Castle). Jim’s story is really about one person deciding, “I’m going to build the thing I imagine,” and then spending a lifetime doing exactly that.

In 1969, he began building what was supposed to be a simple stone cottage for his family. When people commented that it looked like a castle, he decided to keep going.

Over the next five decades, he hauled stones, welded iron, and built almost the entire structure himself by hand. Jim often described it as proof that an ordinary person could follow a dream and create something extraordinary.

He passed away in 2024 at the age of 80, leaving behind one of Colorado’s most unique landmarks. If you have ever wondered “Why Rye?” now you know “why” I went there to experience this amazing place of imagination and inspiration.

At School Bus Studio, my mission has always been Artistic Hands Creating Better Communities — and watching these students grow, encourage one another, and express themselves through art reminds me why this dream matters so much.

The kids ended the year by putting their handprints on the bus ceiling. They also completed one-of-a-kind clay creations dreamed up entirely from their own imaginations, along with finishing up their binocular paintings. These young artists learned that there’s no “right way” to create. Their ideas mattered. Their voices mattered. Their art mattered.

Thank you to all the families, schools, and little artists who made this year magical, and filled my heART with joy.
