😩☕ Oh look… it’s Monday again. ☕😩

Your alarm went off. You questioned every life decision you've ever made. Your pet, meanwhile, has already eaten breakfast and gone back to bed. 🙄🐾
But don't worry, Dr. Bentley is awake, caffeinated, and ready to see patients this morning! 🩺🐶🐱

And for all the pets who decide to start acting weird after you've spent the entire day at work, Dr. Bawa will be here this afternoon and seeing patients until 9 PM! 🎉

Because apparently pets don't understand business hours. 😂

🇺🇸🐾 Holiday Hours Reminder 🐾🇺🇸

Please note that 4 Paws Urgent Care will be CLOSED on Saturday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day.

We hope you and your furry family members have a fun, safe holiday! ❤️

As you celebrate, please remember:
🎆 Keep pets indoors during fireworks.
🏷️ Make sure collars and ID tags are up to date.
💧 Provide plenty of fresh water and a cool place to relax.
🍔 Keep holiday foods, alcohol, and sparklers out of reach.

If your pet is anxious during fireworks, don't wait until the last minute to speak with your veterinarian about options to help keep them calm and comfortable.

We will resume our normal business hours following the holiday.

☀️🐾 Heat Wave Safety Reminder for Pets 🐾☀️

A stretch of hot temperatures is headed our way next week, and it is important to make a plan to keep pets cool and safe.

Pets can overheat quickly, especially senior pets, puppies and kittens, short-nosed breeds, overweight pets, and pets with heart or breathing conditions.

Here are a few ways to help protect them:
💧 Keep fresh, cool water available at all times
🏠 Keep pets indoors in air conditioning whenever possible
🌳 If they need to be outside, make sure they have shade and take frequent breaks
🐕 Walk dogs early in the morning or later in the evening
🖐️ Check pavement before walks. If it is too hot to comfortably hold the back of your hand on it for 7 seconds, it is too hot for paws
🚗 Never leave a pet in a parked vehicle, even for a few minutes
🏊 Supervise pets around pools and water

Watch for signs of heat stress, including heavy panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, bright-red gums, confusion, or collapse. If you think your pet may be overheating, move them to a cool area and contact a veterinarian right away.

A little planning can make a big difference. Stay cool, stay hydrated, and keep those furry family members safe! ❤️🐶🐱

⛈️🎆 Don’t Wait Until the Last Minute! 🎆⛈️

Summer storms and fireworks can be a very stressful time for many pets. Loud noises, flashing lights, and changes in routine can cause fear and anxiety, even in pets who are normally calm.

If your pet struggles during thunderstorms or fireworks, now is the time to plan ahead. Some anxiety medications need to be prescribed in advance, and some pets may need time to try a medication before a big event to make sure it is the right fit for them.

Signs your pet may be anxious include:
🐾 Pacing or shaking
🐾 Hiding
🐾 Excessive barking or meowing
🐾 Panting or drooling
🐾 Trying to escape
🐾 Destructive behavior
🐾 Clinginess or changes in behavior

Please don’t wait until fireworks are already starting or a storm is rolling in. Give us a call ahead of time to discuss your pet’s needs and help make this summer safer and less stressful for everyone.
