Pupdate on Barrel nka Atlas:

I had to share the most fun news with you guys!! Atlas (formerly Barrel with you guys) got his DNA results and it was hilarious! NO ONE saw these results coming and I know it would make you all laugh. We all thought he was a Dutch shepherd and corgi cross or something to that effect.

He just had two teeth removed recently that caused his nose abscess. He is in obedience school with Medina Swarm and we go weekly. He is loved beyond measure and we are so grateful for you guys giving this good boy a chance!

Mila had lots of fun at Petco Fairview Park on Saturday along with adoptable Clark. They were both well behaved, friendly, no barking.

Mila is an adult Goldendoodle with a friendly, affectionate personality. Goldendoodles are known for their intelligent, social nature and often make wonderful family companions. Mila enjoys spending time with people and is always happy to make new friends. Her beautiful coat will require regular grooming to keep it healthy and tangle-free. Mila is ready to bring companionship and love to her forever home.

The shelter is open Tuesday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A meet-and-greet is required for all shelter dogs if you already have a dog. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!

Churo treat is considered a "secret tool" for breaking down fear and stress. The act of licking releases endorphins that naturally calm anxious shelter cats, while the irresistible flavor helps them associate human interaction with positive rewards.

Eric is a handsome medium-haired orange tabby who is just over a year old, meaning he still has all the fun, playful energy of a youngster while beginning to settle into adulthood. He was surrendered to us at the end of April after his previous owner made the difficult but compassionate decision to seek help finding him a home.

His former owner is a true animal lover who realized they had taken on more animals than they could reasonably manage. Wanting the best possible future for Eric, they entrusted him to our care so we can help him find a forever family where he will receive the time, attention and care he deserves.

Since arriving at the shelter, Eric has been a shy and reserved guy. While he hasn't fully let his guard down yet, we've seen that he responds well to patience, soft voices and gentle touch. He is quietly curious about the world around him and often watches what's going on from a safe distance before deciding whether he'd like to investigate.

Due to his longer hair, he will need an adopter willing to brush him regularly to keep it tangle-free and looking its best. This will be a great way to bond with him.

We know there is more to Eric's personality waiting to shine through once he feels safe and secure in a home of his own. The right family will understand that trust takes time and that some of the most rewarding relationships are built slowly. With patience, love and understanding, Eric has every chance to blossom into a wonderful companion. Now all Eric needs is a loving home where he can feel comfortable being himself 🏡🐾

The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing [email protected]. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!

June is Adopt a Cat Month: Find Your Purr-fect Match!

Looking for a reason to smile every day? It's the perfect time to open your heart and home to a rescue feline. Shelters are full of amazing cats of every age, personality, and color, each waiting for a second chance at a happy life.

Why Shelter Cats Make the Best Friends

Instant Love: Shelter cats often seem to know they’ve been rescued and show immense gratitude.
Pre-Loved Personalities: Shelter staff can match you with a cat that fits your exact lifestyle.
Fully Vetted: Most shelter cats come spayed, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped already.
All Ages Welcome: Choose a playful kitten, a balanced adult, or a calm senior companion.
Double the Impact: Adopting saves your new pet and opens a cage for another animal.

‼ IMPORTANT ‼
CHANGE IN PET PANTRY SCHEDULE

Due to a steady decrease in food donations and an increase in demand, the schedule for the Berea ARF Pet Pantry is changing. We will now be open to the public just once a month rather than twice monthly.

The Pantry will be open from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on the THIRD Sunday of the month -- the next open day will be June 21st.

We apologize for this reduction in availability, but our supplies have dwindled drastically, and the number of visitors continues to rise. We're currently providing food for over 350 dogs and 660 cats. We hope the monthly schedule will allow us to gather enough food supply to provide for all visitors.

If you experience an unexpected or dire need throughout the month, please call the shelter and leave a message. We will do our best to accommodate your need. Thanks for your understanding.
