Grain-free and/or legume-based diets are not all the rage. They can cause a deadly heart condition known as Dilated Cardiomyopathy for your precious unsuspecting canine companions.

To the appointments yesterday afternoon that we had to reschedule: this sweet doggie thanks all of you for understanding that she had to have emergency surgery! It is uncommon for a female dog to actually become “blocked” (unable to urinate due to bladder stones). I didn’t count them, but they are displayed in the bowl! Her bladder was about to rupture, she needed surgery and she needed it right then. The little balloon things show what her full bladder size would normally have been and what it was at surgery before removing the stones. She was so painful, but she’s on the mend now! Canine bladder stones can be caused by diet or can be caused by genetic factors or both. Also, thank you to the awesome, understanding, and kind clients we do have!
