🐾🐾It’s Veterinary Reception Week, and we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible
people who keep the front desk running smoothly at Clintonville Hometown Veterinary Service.
Our receptionist–Leticia, Jena, Jamie, Abby, Tammy, and Darrian– are often the first voice you
hear on the phone and the first face you see when you walk through our doors. They juggle
busy schedules, answer countless calls, comfort worried pet parents, and help keep everything
organized behind the scenes–all with compassion, patience, and a smile.
This role is not always easy, but it is absolutely essential. We are so grateful for the kindness,
professionalism, and dedication our reception team brings to our clinic and our clients every day.

It has recently come to our attention that a veterinary practice posted on social media indicating that the rabies vaccines they administer are safe, approved, and not part of the nationwide rabies vaccine recall currently affecting some clinics. We would like to clarify any potential misunderstandings this statement may have created.

All rabies vaccines involved in the nationwide recall are both safe and USDA-approved. No veterinary clinic uses vaccines that are unsafe or unapproved. The recall was initiated out of an abundance of caution after it was discovered that a small number of sterile water vials were inadvertently packaged alongside certain rabies vaccine doses. Because rabies is a serious and potentially fatal disease with significant public health implications, both the manufacturer and the USDA acted responsibly to ensure that there was no risk of a patient inadvertently receiving anything other than a proper rabies vaccine.

The affected rabies vaccine lot was administered between January 10, 2026 and February 4, 2026. All clients whose pets may have received vaccines from this lot have been notified via email. For those without a current email on file, notification letters were mailed. Additionally, our team will be contacting any clients who have not yet scheduled a revaccination appointment to ensure timely follow-up.

Our clinic, along with the vaccine manufacturer, remains fully committed to the highest standards of safety and to making the best possible medical decisions for you and your pet. We appreciate your trust and are always available to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
