☀️ SUMMER SAFETY REMINDER ☀️
Your pet has many talents.
Finding the muddiest puddle in the yard? Absolutely.
Rolling in something questionable? Professional level.
Making good decisions in the summer heat? Not so much.
🐾 Help your furry family member survive their own questionable life choices this summer:
💧 Keep fresh water available at all times. Drinking from a muddy flowerpot is not a suitable hydration plan.
🌳 Provide plenty of shade. Sunbathing for six hours straight may seem like a good idea to your dog, but we respectfully disagree.
🚗 Never leave your pet in a parked car. If you wouldn't sit in there wearing a fur coat, neither should they.
🌡️ Walk during cooler morning or evening hours. Sidewalks can get hot enough to turn paw pads into little furry pancakes.
🦟 Stay current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. The bugs are having a great summer and would love to invite your pet to the party.
🏊 Supervise pets around water. Not every dog is training for the Pet Olympics.
🗑️ Secure trash cans. While your pet may consider garbage a delicacy, their digestive system usually disagrees.
👧 Supervise children around pets and remind everyone to be respectful. Summer fun is better when everyone keeps all their fingers and tails intact.
⚠️ Signs of heatstroke include excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, bright red gums, and collapse. If you notice these signs, contact your veterinarian immediately.
Remember: your pet depends on you to make smart decisions because they're busy eating bugs, chasing squirrels, and licking things they absolutely shouldn't.
Have a safe and fun summer! 🐶🐱❤️
