🚨🌡️EXTREME HEAT WARNING – PLEASE KEEP YOUR PETS HOME AND INSIDE! 🌡️🚨

This heat isn't just uncomfortable—it can be deadly for our pets.
Dogs and cats cannot cool themselves the way we do. During a heat wave, the safest place for them is **inside your home in the air conditioning. They don't need to accompany you on errands, and they should NEVER be left waiting in a vehicle.

🚗 Please leave your pets at home. Even with the windows cracked, temperatures inside a vehicle can become life-threatening within minutes. Every summer, beloved pets suffer or die because they were left in a hot car "just for a FEW minutes."

🐾 Signs of overheating include:
• Excessive panting or difficulty breathing
• Heavy drooling
• Bright red, dark red, or pale gums
• Weakness or extreme lethargy
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Stumbling or acting disoriented
• Rapid heartbeat
• Collapse or unconsciousness

🚑 If you suspect your pet is overheating:
• Move them to a cool, air-conditioned area immediately.
• Offer small amounts of cool (not ice-cold) water.
• Wet their paws, belly, and neck with cool water.
• Get to a veterinarian immediately. Heat stroke is a life-threatening emergency.

💔 Please don't assume they'll be okay because they have shade or water. In temperatures like these, that's often not enough. Hot pavement can also burn paw pads in seconds.
The safest choice is simple:
❤️ Keep them home.
❤️ Keep them inside.
❤️ Never leave them in a parked vehicle.
