This month carries deep meaning for many military and Gold Star families.

Earlier this month, during Children of Fallen Patriots Day, we reflected on the children and families forever impacted by sacrifice and loss. As we now approach Memorial Day and continue Military Appreciation Month, that reflection continues.

More than a decade ago, the Executive Director of Wounded Paw Project ® experienced the unimaginable loss of a child during this same month — a reminder that grief, sacrifice, and remembrance are not confined to a single day on the calendar. They live with families every day.

This month, we honor the fallen, support the living, and stand beside the families who continue carrying the weight of service and sacrifice long after the headlines fade.

May we never forget those who came before us, those currently serving, and the future generations who will continue to bear the cloth of freedom.

Today, we honor the brave men and women currently serving in our nation’s Armed Forces. 🇺🇸

Armed Forces Day, observed on the third Saturday in May, recognizes the dedication, sacrifice, and service of our active-duty servicemembers across every branch of the military.

Established by President Harry S. Truman in 1950 following the creation of the Department of Defense, Armed Forces Day was created as one unified day to honor all who wear the uniform. President John F. Kennedy later designated it as an official national holiday in 1961.

As part of Armed Forces Week and Military Appreciation Month, today is also an opportunity to recognize the families who stand beside our servicemembers every day — including our Blue Star Families whose sacrifices often go unseen.

To all currently serving: thank you for your commitment, courage, and service to our country. We honor you today and every day.

✈️🐾 TOP PAW has entered the danger zone. 🐾✈️

Forty years after Top Gun changed aviation movie history, one elite pilot has emerged from the shadows…

Elvis the Podcast Dog. 😎

Fueled by courage, loyalty, treats, and an unlimited need for speed, Top Paw is reporting for duty this Top Gun Day.

Some chase glory.
Some chase tennis balls.
Legends chase BOTH.

At Wounded Paw Project ®, we honor the spirit of service, resilience, teamwork, and never leaving your wingman behind — values shared by our military, veterans, first responders, and every loyal companion standing beside them.

Because not every hero wears wings…
Some have PAWs. 🐾🇺🇸

🐾💖 This Mother’s Day, Elvis the Podcast Dog is celebrating the most important person in his world — his Mommy, Megan. 💖🐾

Behind every rescued animal, every second chance, and every act of compassion is someone willing to love unconditionally.

Megan’s heart, strength, and devotion remind us what motherhood truly means — showing up, loving fiercely, and never giving up on those who need you most. And beside her is sweet Jazmine, safe in the arms of someone who loves her endlessly.

Today we celebrate ALL moms — the mothers, rescuers, advocates, caregivers, foster moms, pet moms, and the women whose compassion changes lives every single day.

From Elvis, Jazmine, all our PAWs, including those across the Rainbow Bridge, and all of us at Wounded Paw Project® … Happy Mother’s Day. 🌈🐾❤️

Thank you for being our voice, our safe place, and our whole world.

Bella my Super Glue Puppy - Rainbow Bridge May 5, 2024

In Loving Memory of Bella 🐾❤️

Bella was more than a dog.
She was constant.
She was presence.
She was connection.

At Wounded Paw Project®, there was always a simple truth:
If you were ever looking for the co-founder of WPP…
all you had to do was look for Bella.

She was never far.
Always close.
Always reminding us what loyalty and love truly look like.

Two years later, that hasn’t changed.
Her presence is still felt in everything we do—
in every animal we fight for,
and in every life we try to save.

This isn’t about loss.
It’s about legacy.
Bella’s legacy lives on. 🐾
