Fairfax County Animal Services (FCAS) delivers compassionate, high-quality care for animals and works with the community to advance their safety and well-being. FCAS operates two state-of-the-art, open-access sheltering campuses, providing individualized care to approximately 4,000–5,000 animals each year. We provide comprehensive support for pets and the community, offering adoption and stray reu

nification services as well as volunteer, foster, and community cat programs. In addition, FCAS delivers animal control and public safety response, conducts humane investigations of animal cruelty, and offers community-based assistance to help pets remain safely with their families. This work and commitment are reflected in the work of our highly trained staff, volunteers, and foster caregivers, alongside community members who share our belief that all animals deserve compassion, dignity, and safety.

Sir Charles is more than a pet. He’s your furry hype man, your shadow with opinions, and your best friend. 🐶 🩷

He has excellent manners and politely greets guests before promptly climbing into their laps for love and attention. All 80 pounds of him.

While he still appreciates some playtime, he’s found himself enjoying the quieter moments in life more and more. Sir Charles has lived with dogs before and seems open to meeting other calm, like-minded dogs. Bring your dog to our Lorton Campus to meet him! 🐕

Bellamy has the spirit of a mountain lion with the body of an 8-pound cat. 🦁

Bellamy sees the world as a bright new shiny toy just waiting for him to bat around the living room. He sometimes gets swept up by his excitable and curious nature and forgets to mind his manners. He is looking from a home that understand his enthusiasm and help him learn how to regulate his big emotions.

Virginia residents can take Bellamy home on an extended 14-day Adoption Audition.

He’s eagerly waiting for his new family at our Lorton Campus! View all our adoptable pets at fairfaxcounty.gov/animalservices/adopt.

Frankie Mae is not your average cat. She delivers her feelings with the dramatic flair of a creature who knows the world revolves around her. Appease her, and you’ll be rewarded with purrs and headbutts. Question her authority, and you’ll be met with a sharp stare that would send even the bravest foe running.

Frankie Mae takes time adjusting to new environments and may not put her best paw forward at first. With a little time and encouragement, she’ll show you just how loving she can be. 🩷

Frankie Mae is waiting for her family at our Lorton Campus. Meet her today! Learn more about her at fairfaxcounty.gov/animalservices/adopt.

Blue Corn and Tostitos are wondering... are you gonna finish that? 🐹 💭😋

This duo enjoys munching, crunching, and – most importantly – snacking. After a snacking session, they run a few laps around their pen before rewarding themselves for their hard work with yet another snack break. Repeat ten times, and now you know what it’s like to be a guinea pig.

Blue Corn and Tostitos are just two of several guinea pigs looking for their new homes. Find all our adoptable guinea pigs (and more!) at fairfaxcounty.gov/animalservices/adopt.

We don’t touch it. ☝️🚫

Every pet has their own unique preferences and desires, just like us! Our staff aims to meet pets where they are and respect their boundaries. While Jo-Jo may not like his hips pet, he’ll happily accept treats or head scratches instead.

Meet him today at our Lorton Campus. Learn more about him at fairfaxcounty.gov/animalservices/adopt.
