This was my competition piece for this years GTA show, a Gadwall drake.

After taking the seminar from the judge, Shane Smith, and getting some one on one time with feedback on my mount from him, I know where and how I can improve.

I came away with a second place score. Not what my goal was but at the end of the day I came to learn and get better at my mounts.

Never stop learning has and always will be my mind set with taxidermy.

Now time to get to back in the shop and put all this new knowledge to work. 🦆

Please note that the shop will be closed starting today, Thursday 2/27 - Sunday 3/2.

It’s that time of year again to attend the annual Georgia Taxidermy association convention.

As always excited to continue learning and get better with my mounts.

Will try and post some of the incredible mounts that will be in the comp so stay tuned.
