A season of rest…❤️

Over two months of quiet here at the ranch, all horses have been turned out to the McKay pasture or sent to other places for the time being and I’ll be honest, it’s been hard. Nothing in this journey has been easy but that’s when we learn so much! My physical therapist says I may have another two months of therapy ahead of me. Still praying it won’t take that long! But we still don’t know when we’ll be able to start our programs back up yet, sadly.

One thing I do know…God has been speaking LOUDLY in this season. Sometimes He has to slow us down long enough to hear what He’s been trying to tell us all along.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

I believe this season of stillness has been necessary, not just for me, but for the horses and this ministry. God has been revealing, refining, and preparing us for what’s next.

And I have to say THANK YOU to those who have continued to give and support this ministry. Prayers, financially, and taking a few horses off our hands for the time, all of you, we appreciate it more than you know!! With our programs on hold and zero income coming in, your donations have helped TREMENDOUSLY in keeping this little ranch going. God has shown His faithfulness through the generosity of others, and we don’t take a bit of it for granted. ❤️

We may not know when we’ll be back, but I believe we’ll come back stronger, wiser, and with a whole new perspective.

The horses are resting, the ranch is quiet, but God is still working. And I can’t wait to see what He does next. 🐴❤️ Be on the lookout for updates as things start to progress with the physical therapy appointments.

SOMETHING IS SHIFTING AT DHRR… and I believe we’re about to see why God made us slow down. ❤️😭🙌🏽

I can feel it. God is taking DHRR into a NEW SEASON.

From the outside, this may have looked like a season of rest. Things slowed down. I was literally forced to sit still. 😂 But GOD has not been still.

He’s been working behind the scenes shifting things, aligning things, bringing the right people, providing what we need and preparing this place for what’s coming.

And I believe He’s been doing some healing too. ❤️‍🩹 Healing things in us before He asks us to pour back out. Strengthening our foundation. Reminding us that sometimes God has to slow us down before He can send us forward.

Because I truly believe He is preparing the people who are about to walk through these gates.

Kids who need someone to believe in them. Women who need to remember who they are. Families who need hope. People carrying hurt, rejection, trauma and lies they’ve believed about themselves for years.

And God already knows every single one of their names.

We may not know them yet, but HE DOES. 😭🙌🏽

That gets me.

He’s preparing us for them, and I believe He’s preparing them for this place.

The kids. The families. The horses. HIS ministry. The healing. The opportunities for people to encounter Jesus right here at this little ranch.

I don’t know exactly what it’s all going to look like yet, and I’m okay with that. I just know the One leading it.

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” Ecclesiastes 3:1

The rest wasn’t wasted. The waiting wasn’t wasted. The healing wasn’t wasted. God has been preparing the ground.

DHRR is stepping into a new season, and I cannot WAIT to meet the people He’s going to send us to love, serve and pour into.

All glory belongs to HIM. ❤️🐴🙌🏽

Beginning the day with this view and a grateful heart. ❤️

God has been so faithful to DHRR through every season, the good, the hard, and everything in between. We may not always know what’s next, but we know Who does.

Thankful for this little ranch, these horses, every person God sends through our gates, and every single person who helps make it possible. 🤎🐴

Hey guys we have had someone reach out to us that has a horse and a donkey that needs to be rehomed. These will be pasture pets. The horse is blind in one eye. Used to be a lesson horse. Info is on papers for age on horse. Donkey is around 8-9 yrs old.

Surgery went well on Tuesday, and I’m so thankful for that. 🤍 But the pain since surgery has been unimaginable. I’ve endured a lot of painful things, but this has by far been the hardest.
I’m taking it one day at a time and trusting God through every part of the healing process. 🙏🏼 If you would, please keep me in your prayers as I walk through these next few days of pain, healing, and recovery. I know God is with me even on the days when it hurts more than I can explain.

I am so incredibly thankful for everyone who has reached out, sent prayers, checked on me, and dropped off food. And a big thank you to the girls that are taking care of the horses and barn chores each day 2x a day! Your kindness and support have meant more to me than you know!🤎
