I took lil man to a different vet today for a second opinion and sadly he does have a heart defect. This vet did give me more info on his outcome. She stated with medication and healthy diet that he could live a happy life, though she did say chances were he wouldn't make it to be an old man.

I do have him a home lined up with a wonderful lady who will shower him with much love and give him the care he deserves and needs. No matter how short or long his life is, he will know love and that's all I ever want for any of my babies

He’s still a wisp, a shadow of his usual boisterous self. When he tries to stand, he wobbles like a newborn fawn, his legs barely holding his weight. But he is trying. There’s a flicker of fight in his eyes, a tentative stretch, a slow, deliberate blink that signals awareness, not just exhaustion. The improvement, I see it, feel it in the subtle shift of his weight when I pick him up, the slightly firmer grip of his tiny paws. He's gotten stronger, inch by painful inch.

Nursing is still hit or miss. He's taken a little, just enough to ease the tight knot in my stomach, but not enough to quell the worry that hovers. I find myself gently guiding him, coaxing, willing him to take more, to find that primal comfort and nourishment. Each tiny gulp is a victory, each refusal a fresh stab of anxiety.
I plan on taking him to a different vet, for a second opinion. A fresh pair of eyes, a new perspective, a sliver of hope that perhaps the diagnosis isn't as grim as it first sounded, or at least that there's a clearer path forward. We’ll get through this. We have to. For now, we breathe. We take tiny sips of progress. And we wait, holding onto every fragile victory, and the profound, persistent hope that a full, strong beat still awaits him.
