We recently DNA tested Mazie (Trigger’s Rosy Atitlan Pearl) through Embark and found that she has a small trace of Pointer and Llewellin Setter several generations back. Because of that, we’ve decided to retire her before ever breeding to protect the integrity of our Brittany lines.

She’s still the same sweet, bird-crazy, family-loving dog — just not part of our breeding program.

If you’re buying a purebred dog, I strongly encourage you to learn from our mistake and ask for DNA verification along with registration papers. Responsible breeders should always welcome transparency.

We received the results of Dottie’s and Jax’s OFA Hip and Elbow finals today. Dottie’s hip score was “GOOD” while Jax’s hip score was “EXCELLENT.” Both Dottie and Jax received normal results for their Elbow evaluations. These tests mean Dottie nor Jax indicate any sign of hip or elbow dysplasia.
