Tuesday was one of those days that reminds you why we do this.

With guidance from Ken McNabb, Craig Cameron, and Brandi Lyons, riders spent the day learning how to work cattle, improve their horsemanship, and help their horses gain confidence around livestock. As the day went on, you could see partnerships growing stronger and riders becoming more confident in their decisions.

There is something special about watching a horse learn to trust its rider and a rider learn to trust their horse.

We finished the evening with team sorting, putting the day’s lessons into practice and having a lot of fun along the way. It was a great day of learning, growth, and good horsemanship.

One of the biggest takeaways from Craig Cameron’s desensitization demonstration was the reminder that good horsemanship starts with us.

“When we get good, they get good.”

Horses look to us for leadership, confidence, and direction. The goal isn’t simply to make a horse tolerate something scary—it’s to help them become sure, certain, and secure through thoughtful, consistent training.

I also loved Craig’s description of horsemanship as “a mind working with a mind.” The best horsemen don’t force horses through situations; they communicate, build trust, and help the horse find confidence.

Horsemanship is a learned art, and every horse is an opportunity to improve our timing, feel, and understanding. The more we learn, the better partners we become for our horses.

Sunday we were blessed to have John Lyons share God's Word with us, His Message was a powerful reminder of Gods faithfulness, Grace, and the importance of trusting him through every season of life, Thank you John for taking the time to minister, and for sharing such an encouraging message
