Care Center Animal Blood Bank The Care Center Animal Blood Bank is a full-service, non-profit veterinary blood bank.

The Care Center Animal Blood Bank offers our veterinary community a full assortment of blood products ready to administer should your pet become critically ill and/or require a transfusion. We are pleased to partner with Hill's Science Diet to provide this valuable, life-saving service. To schedule your dog for a free blood donor screening, please call 513-530-0911. The perfect canine blood donor

is:
-1 to 7 years of age (Can donate until 9 years old)
-Friendly
-More than 50 pounds (in lean body weight)
-Healthy
-Up-to-date on vaccines and take monthly heartworm preventative
-Not on any medication (other than flea, tick, and heartworm; some exceptions made)
-Never received a blood transfusion before
-Willing to donate 3-4 times per year

Duke is going to sleep good tonight! He came in today for his very FIRST DONATION. Although he was unsure of what he was getting himself into, he did it with flying colors and mom was here to hold his hand. He's still a young pup, but he knew he had lives to save. Duke did great and we can't wait to see him until next time. Thank you Duke!

So many fun friends this week; all of our wonderful donors and volunteers. This is why I love my job. All these happy faces that just want to help and be told they are doing a good job. Well they are doing a GREAT job. We love our donors and I'm glad they can put a smile on the face of someone they've never met before, some of them hundreds of miles away because their pet was given a second chance at life. Thank you to this weeks donors, Paisley, Magdalena, Guinevere, Leonidas, Nala, Zoey, Axle, and Curie.

Finnegan has been a blood donor with us since 2020. That's 6 years we have seen him consistently. He has earned his RETIREMENT. He also got to finish with a milestone. He has donated 3 GALLONS. That is quite the feat. He has saved almost 100 lives. He is a true hero and we will forever miss him and his cute sweaty feet. Enjoy your retirement Finnegan you deserve it.
