We’re so excited to be here attending the 2025 AZACA Conference!

AZACA Conference 2025 – A Powerful Gathering of Animal Welfare Professionals!

What an amazing turnout this morning at the 2025 AZACA Conference! It’s inspiring to see so many passionate professionals in one place—ranging from those who started just one month ago to those with 35+ years of experience in animal welfare.

This photo captures everyone who joined us this morning, but the day is far from over! We have several more hours of training ahead to ensure we stay up to date on the latest regulations, best practices, and strategies to better serve our communities and the animals who depend on us.

The Chino Valley Animal Shelter will be closed Thursday, March 27th, 2025, due to staff attending a training conference. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We know that you guys have seen this lovely face before time and time again, but for those who don't know her name is Snow White. Snow White came to the Shelter with her seven 3-day-old puppies on 10/24/24. Since then, all of her "Seven Dwarfs", Sleepy, Bashful, Happy, Grumpy, D***y, Sneezy and Doc have all been adopted and found their forever homes! Snow White has been here at the shelter for 148 days and is currently our longest resident out of all our available dogs. Thanks to a wonderful donation, her adoption fee has been sponsored in hopes that she will have a home by Mother's Day!

Snow White is a wonderful, super smart and super sweet girl. She is a little over 1 and a half years old, spayed and UTD on all Vaccinations (DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies). She is a girl with a calling to spend all day outside and all night inside cuddling on a bed. She appears to be housetrained, and for all training needs she is extremely food motivated!

Snow White would do best in a home that is active and can really help her get her energy out. She would be best in a home with no smaller animals. Dogs her size and larger are best for her! If a potential match has any other dogs a meet and greet is required prior to being able to adopt. UPDATE: The dog was humanely trapped and is now safe at the shelter. We are still looking for an owner.
Our Animal Control Officers are attempting to humanely trap this dog. The dog has been seen multiple times on the corner of Road 1 East and Kalinich. He is extremely skittish. Please do not call out to him or chase him. If you own this dog, or know who does, please call the shelter at 928-636-4223, ext. 7.

Meet Maverick, an approximately 6-month-old Labrador Retriever mix puppy. Maverick was found as a stray at a gas station in Chino Valley. We are not sure how or why he ended up on the streets, but he is a wonderful dog and going to make a great addition to someone's family. Maverick is not only cute, but he is super sweet! He gets along well with other dogs and is very compliant with them, but his truest passion is being around people; he LOVES his people. Maverick is still young and is working on things like potty training and puppy mouthiness but is doing well with it all. He will benefit greatly from basic obedience training, as well as a patient owner who is willing to tough out the puppy years with him.
Maverick is UTD on DAPP, Bordetella and Rabies vaccinations and has been neutered and microchipped. If you would like to meet Maverick, please call the shelter at 928-636-4223 ext. 7 to set up an appointment!

We would like everyone to meet the one and only, Bucky! Bucky is an approximately 1-2-year-old male Husky mix. Bucky made his way to the shelter as a somewhat timid stray, but boy has he blossomed. Bucky loves people and will try to greet his favorites with a big hug; we do try to discourage that, but it is just so sweet! He is super playful and loves nothing more than spending hours romping in the play yards with his friends! In typical Husky fashion, he does like to run the show but is never mean or aggressive about it. As is common with a Husky, Bucky will need a home with a tall and secure fence as Huskies do love adventure and will take themselves out on one if given the chance. We would love for him to go to a home with other dog friends as he has so much playing, he also loves chasing balls and will run as many times as you'll throw it. Bucky is UTD on his DAPP, Bordetella and Rabies vaccinations. He also has been neutered and has his microchip. Just like that, it's already March! Licenses are due by March 31st, or an $8 late fee will apply. Licenses can be purchased at the Chino Valley Animal Shelter, Circle L Animal Hospital, Chino Valley Animal Hospital or online by clicking this link: https://www.petdata.com/for-pet-owners/chv/. If it is your first time purchasing a license for your dog or your dog has received an updated rabies vaccination, be sure to bring in a copy of the certificate with you as that information will be needed in order to issue the license.
