Summer should look different for Ryder.

It should be long walks in the evening while the sun starts to set. Car rides with the windows down. Learning routines. Feeling safe. Stretching out on cool floors after a day spent beside someone who loves him.

Instead, Ryder is still waiting.

This beautiful 2-year-old German Shepherd/Malamute mix has spent far too much time hoping someone will finally choose him. He came to Famous Fido Rescue after being surrendered when his previous family could no longer manage his behavior, and since then, we’ve worked hard to help him build confidence, trust, and stability.

Ryder is intelligent, deeply sensitive, and incredibly connected to the people he trusts. He thrives with guidance and structure, and we know that in the right home, with the right person, he has the potential to become an extraordinary companion.

He is not looking for a temporary stop. He needs a committed, experienced home willing to continue helping him grow and succeed. A home that understands that some dogs just need someone willing to stay.

We are especially searching for a very specific kind of adopter for Josh - someone experienced with difficult, hard-to-handle dogs who understands that healing and trust take time.

Josh is a 6-year-old German Shepherd who came to us deeply neglected, fearful, and emotionally shut down. He has strong guard dog behaviors, is very selective with people, and can be extremely difficult when he feels unsafe or overwhelmed. This is not a dog for someone looking for an easy companion. Josh needs someone truly experienced, patient, and committed to working with him instead of against him.

What we envision for Josh is a calm adult-only home with a large secure yard and someone who understands how important routine, decompression, and trust-building are for dogs like him. He needs a person who won’t expect instant affection or perfection, but who will give him the space and guidance to slowly feel safe. Someone who understands behavior and can set him up for success instead of putting him into situations he’s not ready for.

We know Josh will not be the right dog for most people, but we also know there is someone out there who will see him, understand him, and recognize that underneath all the fear and guarding is an intelligent dog who has simply never had the stability he deserved.

Josh cannot stay in rescue forever. He deserves the chance to have a real home, a real bond, and a future built on patience and understanding.

For my birthday this year, I'm asking for donations to a program very near and dear to my heart, Famous Fido Rescue Rehoming Program. Over the past 1.5 years, many dogs have been Saved through this very special community Intervention. Each case is different. Many animals entering the program also require vetting and supplies such as food and proper walking gear. We currently have a 150 lb Mastiff in the program named Amores that requires a neuter and updated vaccinations in August. Bonnie, another current member of the program requires neuter and blood work.

Every dollar helps us say YES to another dog in the rehoming program, and allows our team the needed funding to provide them with the needed vetting and supplies while searching for their forever home. There is something profoundly beautiful about caring for an old soul.

A senior cat like Riku does not need grand adventures or endless space. He does not ask for much at all. What he needs is tenderness. Safety. A quiet home where he can finally exhale and know that he is loved.

Riku has spent too long waiting for someone to choose him. Too long wondering if he will ever have a person to call his own. And as the days pass, it becomes harder to watch this gentle boy spend his precious senior years in rescue instead of stretched out in a warm patch of sunlight in a real home.

He is soft, shy, and deeply deserving of compassion. The kind of cat who will never demand attention, but whose presence will quietly fill your heart. The kind of soul you protect once you truly see him.

Senior animals are so often overlooked because people fear the time they may have left. But what about the time they have right now? What about the love they are ready to give today? Riku deserves that chance. He deserves to be cared for, cherished, and held close through this chapter of his life.

Can someone please just come meet Simone and give her a real chance?

She has been waiting for such a long time now, watching people walk past her over and over again, and it’s hard not to wonder how many more days she’ll spend hoping someone finally stops for her.

Simone is not the kind of cat who puts on a big show. She’s sensitive. Quiet. A little unsure at first. But that doesn’t make her any less deserving of love. In fact, cats like Simone are often the ones who end up meaning the most to you, because earning their trust feels so special and so real.

And those eyes…Simone has the prettiest eyes, but there’s sadness in them too. You can tell she wants to feel safe. Wanted. Home.

She doesn’t need someone perfect. She just needs someone kind. Someone patient enough to let her settle in and realize she never has to be scared or unwanted again.

Please come meet Simone. Sit with her. Talk to her softly. Give her the opportunity so many others haven’t.

We’re tired of watching Scooby Doo be overlooked.

Tired of watching people pass him by without realizing what an incredible dog is sitting right in front of them. Tired of seeing a sweet, loving boy wait longer simply because he’s a Bully mix.

Because the truth is - Scooby Doo is GREAT.

He’s the kind of dog who loves car rides and sticks his face toward the window to feel the breeze in his ears. The kind of dog who walks right beside you like he’s been your best friend forever. The kind of dog who gets excited for a pup cup and looks at you with so much trust and gratitude it almost hurts.

He is gentle. He is affectionate. He is goofy in the sweetest ways. And beneath all of that is a dog who has been through hardship and still wakes up every day ready to love people.

What more does he have to do to be chosen?

Scooby should not still be here waiting for someone to give him a chance. He should be sleeping on someone’s couch. Going on weekend errands. Riding shotgun. Being loved the way every good dog deserves to be loved.

Somewhere out there is a person who has no idea that Pablo is the dog they’ve been looking for.

A person who wants a companion to ride along for life’s ordinary moments - morning coffee, evening walks, quiet nights on the couch, someone waiting happily at the door when they come home.

And meanwhile, Pablo is sitting in rescue…waiting for that person too.

He’s 6 years old and has already survived more heartbreak than most dogs ever should. Pablo was scheduled to be euthanized simply because his guardian didn’t want him anymore. But despite that, he still greets people with softness in his eyes and hope in his heart.

There’s something deeply special about him. Not loud or flashy...just real. The kind of dog who settles beside you like he’s always belonged there. The kind of dog who makes hard days feel lighter simply because he’s near.

He is joyful on walks, wonderful with people, affectionate, and so easy to love once you spend even five minutes with him. Everyone here roots for Pablo. Everyone believes in him. Now we just need someone to take the next step and believe that he belongs with them.

Because he does belong somewhere.
Not in rescue forever.
Not as another overlooked dog with a sad story.
But in a home. In a family. In someone’s heart.

Every day at Famous Fido, animals arrive carrying stories of heartbreak, abandonment, neglect, illness, fear, and loss. Some need emergency surgery. Some need months of rehabilitation. Some simply need time, patience, food, warmth, and someone willing to believe their life still matters. And while adoption changes lives, it is steady monthly support that keeps the doors open long enough for those second chances to happen.

Monthly donors are the reason we can say yes when an animal is suffering. They help us provide emergency veterinary care, food, medication, shelter, heat, electricity, litter, enrichment, and the daily hands-on care that vulnerable animals depend on. Priscilla was wanted…until she wasn’t.

At only a year old, she lost the only home she knew because her family said they had allergies and no longer wanted her. And now this beautiful, precious girl sits in our rescue trying to understand how life changed so suddenly.

You can see the confusion in her eyes. She watches the door. She studies every person who walks by. She seems to be searching for the family she thought would come back for her.

But despite the heartbreak she’s been through, Priscilla is still so full of sweetness and curiosity. She wants to connect. She wants affection. She wants to feel safe again. Underneath all the uncertainty is a young cat who simply wants to belong to someone.

She deserves a home where love is permanent. Where she’ll never again wonder why she was left behind.
