📊 Shelter Intake Snapshot

2024 – 580 total animals
• 296 dogs (153 puppies)
• 46 cats | 73 kittens

2025 – 631 total animals
• 310 dogs (147 puppies)
• 82 cats | 89 kittens

As Chester County continues to grow, so does the demand for animal services. While rescue partnerships and strong community support help offset intake, the need remains, and prevention is the key to long-term progress.

By continuing to offer access to affordable spay and neuter services with our 2026 veterinary partners, we’re working to stop the cycle before animals ever need shelter care. With continued community involvement and responsible pet ownership, we can do even better together.

🐾🎉We’re kicking off the year with compassion in action, our first TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) event of the year!

TNR helps reduce stray cat populations humanely, prevents unwanted litters, and keeps community cats healthier and safer. It’s a small step that makes a BIG difference for animals and our community.

🎅🎄 Santa’s Naughty & Nice List has officially been posted… and he had to hurry home to prepare for Christmas! Before they go, they wanted to remind everyone that:

📅 Chester County Animal Control will be closed December 24–28 and New Year’s Day.
🚨Emergency services will remain available through dispatch.

Christmas came early at the shelter thanks to the incredible DiLorenzo family! 🎄❤️

They showed up with the kind of generosity that makes our animals wiggle, wag, and wonder if Santa accidentally arrived a few weeks ahead of schedule. And the highlight of their visit? Getting showered in fluff and affection by Raven, our big, beautiful, adoptable Alaskan Malamute who is absolutely certain she’s the star of every holiday story.

Thank you, DiLorenzo family, for bringing joy, treats, and warm hearts into our shelter today. You made the season brighter for all of us—two-legged and four-legged alike! 🐾✨
