OUR MISSION:
Pet Placement Center aims to reduce animal suffering by finding responsible homes for animals in need, promoting spay/neuter to reduce pet homelessness, and emphasizing responsible animal care through education and example. ABOUT OUR SHELTER:
We house about 25-30 cats onsite between our 2 free-roaming cat rooms along with having adoptable cats at the Naughty Cat Cafe. Our dogs get to

spend the day outdoors in fenced in yards and then sleep indoors. Kittens will remain in foster homes until fixed and ready for adoption. We also utilize foster homes for some of our pets with special needs.

Oakleigh had a wonderful adventure yesterday thanks to one of our volunteers! First, she helped out with picking up donations from our friends at FedEx in Ooltewah and then got to go on amazing hike. We already know how much she loves the water. Thank you to all of the dog walkers who give our dogs amazing days while they wait for their family!

DOG SPOTLIGHT: This is Dublin!! She’s been with PPC since April of 2024 but has been in foster care for about 3 months now and is thriving! She would love to find a home that she could call hers forever.

Dublin LOVES her stuffed toys and just hanging out at home, whether it be a bed, couch, or even a crate. She is crate trained, house trained, and overall a well rounded dog. At the shelter, she experienced a lot of overstimulation which made her seem overwhelming, but the reality is that Dublin is the most chill dog at home. She’s a lower energy girl who still enjoys a good game of tug of war (where she’ll give you a run for your money) and going on walks.

If you’re looking for a lower energy dog who can easily mesh into an already busy schedule or a couch potato to hang out with you at home, Dublin is your girl. She would do better in a home with no other dogs, but she’s friendly with people of all ages. We have been working on sitting and waiting for her food, which she has picked up on very quickly as she is highly food motivated and easily trainable. She loves laying on her back with all of her feet in the air. She is sure to give you a good laugh and she’ll give you such expressive faces. She can be slightly nervous around new people, but to be loved by Dublin doesn’t take long and is so special!

Dublin is being fostered by one of our amazing employees. Please inquire if you would like to learn more, or better yet, meet the amazing Dublin!

Thanks to our ongoing partnership with Humane Educational Society, we have been able to spay and neuter 14 pets belonging to low-income Hamilton County residents this September.

Choosing to spay and neuter your pets is one of the best ways to prevent unwanted litters as well as a host of medical conditions that could negatively impact your pet’s quality of life, and we are so grateful to these pet owners for making this decision for their beloved pets!

We are currently booking spay and neuter appointments for October, so if you or someone you know might qualify for our program, please visit our website to learn more: https://www.petplacementcenter.com/spay-neuter.

And without further ado, here are some of the recipients of low-cost spay and neuter surgeries this September!

Our dog walkers are the best! Isabelle and Oakleigh recently went out on a hike and had a great time. Plus, we found out that Oakleigh LOVES to swim. This time out is so valuable for their health and helpful for us to get feedback about each of them. You can learn so much about a dog when you take them out on a walk. Don't have time for a big outting? No problem...we have a path that takes you from our parking lot to the road behind the shelter which is perfect if you are short on time.

UPDATE: Caught and SAFE!!!

LOOSE DOG Dayton Blvd. Be on the lookout for Katniss! She came in as a stray to McKamey but was adopted from us back in 2020. She bolted out of the car as soon as the door opened when bringing her back to PPC. She ran down Dayton Boulevard towards Highway 153 then disappeared into the trees. She doesn’t know any of us and we don’t even know what name she’s been going by the last few years. Please call the shelter.
